We drew at Barnsley when we should have won, sounded like we at least deserved a draw tonight.
It's the character of the performance that will keep us in this race.
Big game Tues, DW will have them up for it though...
We scored a pen folks, a monkey off the back. Let's go on another run after today...

Hogg should have started. Simple.
We are still the best footballing team in this division.
Bullshit 3 goals for them.
Win the game in hand and we are 3 points behind the gulls.
All to play for.

16 shots to their 6. 6 on target for us and 5 for them. They had 17 fouls to our 9. One thing, I'm proud that this side will not go away to shut up shop.

Look at the stats. No doubt they will be congratulating themselves on an amazing performance but that was luck followed by more luck then a bit more for good measure. Colback very lucky to be on field.

Man of the match Ritchie, what the cheating bastard. No way What? They did not string 4 passes together...we must have had 7 or 8 forty yard pearlers to feet. Mooy was leggy 10 left and Kachunga a bit flat otherwise every Town player was better than any Newcastle player. 3 spawny goals...we toasted them.

Sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say the better team won.
This is NOT one of those times. Time wasting, classless Geordie twats.

How did we lose to that shower of shit? Ironically, we were too dominant, forcing them to hit speculative long balls out of defence, which with a combination of luck and poor refereeing won them the game. Honestly don't think we were dominant. Three teams have wooped us this season - Newcastle tonight - Sheff Wed - Fulham All played our own game against us with quick counter attack. We cannot defend against our own style of football it seems.

I try not to let results get to me but today I feel down. Was never our night tonight. Newcastle did the job on us - didn't really have the answer to it. Totally agree .. they did a job on us and were reasonably comfy till we got that ( looked dodgy to me ) penalty ... villa are coming on a bomb and Brentford looks decidedly tricky .. I'm feeling a bit low tonight

By wooped I mean they had us all worked out - possession means nowt - goals might have been lucky but we would never have won that game regardless. Gonna watch David Haye knock out Bellew later and get even more fucked off....

They got it tonight. Their real test will come not against Brighton or Huddersfield, but against some of the bottom teams - games which they have trouble motivating themselves for.

Only 1 team in that game. Shame the other one were gifted 3 goals.
4 times out of 5 we would have won that game. We didn't let them have a kick and only scored by cheating/good fortune.
To spend that much money and not be able to string 3 passes together is embarrassing.

They defended well, limited us, but caught a couple of lucky goals on the break. Our mistakes gave them the win. They won fair and square, but it wasn't down to their superior performance. Maybe defensively, but definitely not offensively.

Very strong at the back. Largely limited us to long range shots. They were happy to play for a point.

Folk can't call Newcastle shit. They've won 13 away this season, top scorers and best defence. We dominated possession as usual but we didn't put them under any real pressure. They defended well and we didn't put enough quality balls into the box. We'll beat most teams if continue to play the way we do, but you have to accept that like Middlesbrough last season they sat back and took their opportunities when they arose, despite all three goals being lucky.

Default is to give it to one of their players to keep the bandwagon moving... I've nowt against Newcastle, I think their fans are nuts and have to cope with a shithouse of a Chairman. They're well clear now, but overall their club is walking a tightrope and has been for yrs. The likelihood is they might still need this buffer given the huge expectations of their fans. Onwards & upwards Town, 4-3 on aggregate versus a team with many players who singularly cost more than our squad...

Wooped? Newcastle were GIFTED three goals. End of discussion... No. You don't get to end the discussion because you are looking at the goals as the be all and end all. They had the making of us. Only a few sides have worked it out but we have no answer to it. Completely disagree, in open play they were second best all over the pitch, I'll admit they were incredibly hard to break down, but in the final 20mins they were gradually crumbling under the pressure. The first two goals were completely illegitimate, and the third was gifted in a low pressure situation. Neither Colback or Anita should have made it through the first half. You will not see a less deserved result this season.

Result aside obviously I don't agree that they did a job on us at all. Very lucky at the right times. Play that again and that is not the result. Deluded toon army gobbing off that they played us off the park on way back. Don't think so.

I fail to see how a that was a wooping or had worked us out!
Newcastle got the result through fortuitous goals.
A dodgy pen and 2 goalkeeping errors to get your 3 goals is hardly working us out?
Other than when an opposing team gets a huge slice of luck against us, we seem to do alright!

Wagner's post-match response to a defeat is always honest and humble and measured. He is such a class act and I fucking love the guy.

I'm saying simply that if we had played for twice as long - we'd have conceded more goals.
They let us huff and puff round the twenty yard box - possession football - it came to zero, that's all I'm saying - Rafa did the job on us.
They are top of the league for a reason no?

Six word match report.
Two dodgy penalties. Two dodgy keepers.
