It's just baffling to me that folk who could attend are choosing not too when it's championship playoff semi final it's just odd. I told you to prepare to be surprised You did to be fair! Just hoping we get a late surge for tickets next couple of days but it's not looking promising.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the full house signs go up. But from what I've read on here, some people seem more concerned about the attendance than the result. Fuck what the opposition think about our unsold seats, let's just batter the fuckers and shut them up for good.. BELIEVE. Best post so far ! On the attendance, as has already been said - it's the first leg, with a crap kick-off time/day, live on TV and we've been crap recently. So it's difficult to see many outside the core support attending. It should still be another 20K+ crowd though.

If you have any allegiance to town why wouldn't you want to attend one of their biggest games in the last 50 years ? Seems a bit weird to me but each to their own

I'm surprised by how the sales have gone so far but at the end of the day Sunday is not about the fun or the atmosphere, it's about the result. Anyone turning up expecting the ground to be rocking might have a bit of a surprise in store because it's going to be a tense and nervy atmosphere. It's a first leg, against a strong team who have beaten us twice this season and we're going in on poor form with a lot of fans half-expecting us to lose the tie overall. I know it's not the way we'd like it to be and the NSL guys will be trying their damned hardest to get the place going but my gut feeling is that it will be flat on Sunday until if/when we take the lead.

Possible household scenario in July 2016.
Wife : " You can buy one of them cheap season tickets, if you promise to book a fortnight in Barbados for us to go as soon as the last game is finished " !
Husband : " Hang on, we might be in the play offs, so will have to wait a bit " - WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SAID !

We've got to get a chuffing dog if we go up, that was my promise. Calling it Wagner though.

Part time fan here. Booked for a 3 day rugby tournament for my son 3 months ago in Skegness - unfortunately it falls this weekend. To come back to watch the game on Sunday would mean missing all of his games on the final day of the tournament. Decided I support my son this weekend. We both have season tickets for next season in the South Stand (where we have been most of the season) and we will of course be going to Wembley to support Town in the final . Hope this is OK with everyone.

If we go up Ted, we'll have to get used to it. Most prem teams give very similar numbers. I'm all for home advantage, but if we'd of drawn Fulham or reading we would still only be getting 2k. But am I not right in thinking that was something agreed at a meeting a week or two ago ? And it's likely we would either have proposed it or enthusiastically agreed to it ? Then we can't even sell the tickets I'm not saying we should have given Wednesday the away end or owt like that . All I'm saying is isn't it a shame it's likely there will be a few 1000 seats going begging at ours, and our usual 4k plus allocation for hillsborough has been halved. I agree that it's a shame we can't take more away when we have a lot of hardcore away support who've missed out, but Sheffield Wednesday have sold a lot of home tickets and their SAG have limited away numbers and even home numbers by all accounts. I don't think clubs have agreed to limit away numbers, I think it's just a case of clubs want to fill it with home fans first. I actually think we will close to selling out but I do feel that the short space of time that general sale will be on will cost town ticket sales. Sheffield Wednesday started selling playoff home tickets five days before we did. The small window we've allowed could cost us.

My uncle ain't going because hes got visitors coming from the south!! His mate wont go because its 12 O'clock on a Sunday. My dad is in the same boat.
All retired, all continuous season Ticket holders and all watched town all over the country since being young boys.
I'm shaking my head in disbelief.

Think of all the shite we've had to sit through under Wadsworth, Ternent, Ritchie etc, these are the games that make all that worthwhile, the games that really mean something. I just can't fathom why people wouldn't want to go if they're able to. All this 12 o clock kick off and it's on TV is just bollocks, it's our biggest game in nearly 50 years.

If Wagner really did 'settle' for fifth place - team selections and performances since Wolves would say as much - then he may have underestimated the potential impact of match days and kick-off times in the play-offs. No real criticism there, as he hasn't experienced them before. But playing at home in the second leg, under floodlights, evening KO with a boozed-up crowd, will surely provide a better atmosphere for the players then what we may end up with on Sunday. Hillsborough is going to be pretty special for the return. Let's hope we can take a decent lead there. UTT If you are suggesting wagner set out to lose matches or was happy to lose matches I reckon that's nonsense I'm suggesting he wasn't overly concerned about winning them, which more or less amounts to the same thing. Anyway, I think Stewpot called it right a bit further up. If we win or even draw on Sunday, there'll be huge pressure on Wendies in the second leg. If we lose, they'll face massive expectation. Town will face neither. Always another way to look at something, ain't there?

Make sure you get your tickets asap - its going to be a cracking atmosphere Official general sale starts tonight, but in reality started last night at 6 as a lot of new ST holders will make up those tgat used general sale throughout the season proper. By my quick reckoning on the plan there are about 5000 seats left in the available areas. You can still get 5 or 6 together smack back centre of Kilner bank and a fair way back. Sounds off the wall to say it but I honestly think this could be the lowest attendance of the season. I know new and old ST holders who aren't going for both genuine, and tenuous reasons. Staggering in the circumstances.

Don't think this seemingly low crowd will impact on the atmosphere. If someone isn't coming so they can watch on Sky, or can't be bothered, or think we'll lose etc, then it's unlikely they're the type to contribute anything towards our atmosphere anyway. Good riddance.

One final calling cry for someone to help me with just one ticket for the game? No problem admitting I'm a neutral and wouldn't take up on a ticket if I knew I would be taking it from a genuine support but with it not looking likely to see it it would be a bit annoying watching it on a tv and seeing the few empty seats.

Staggering in the circumstances. Was the same at Bradford for their Fleetwood playoff first round tie, lowest of the season. Highlights what a difference cheap season tickets makes to crowds. No school focus either which probably adds on another 1,500 most weeks in the FM stand. Gates are generally 1,500 less than actual attendances, as ST holders are always counted. As everyone has to buy single tickets for this one I'd assume all will turn up and it probably won't look much different to a normal crowd, even if it doesn't look quite so impressive on paper. As Sio says, some of our best atmospheres have been when it's the 'hardcore' (JPT - 4-0 down after leg one a few years back, atmosphere was rocking when we got it back to 4-3). Either way it beats the actual attendances of last season and the year before when there was less than 8,000 home fans showing up to watch us get beat every week.

if we had the second leg at home its a different story - people are saying that there's a trip to Wembley at stake on sunday - some will see it differently - all that's at stake on sunday is having a decent first half trying to put us in a decent position for a very tough 2nd half - that's it. Nothing can we won or qualified for sunday so therefore it takes away the attraction for the more casual fan.
