Is this a new rule for this season? Previously there hasn't been an upper limit on away allocations. Clubs had to give a minimum of 3,000 or 10% of capacity if less than 30,000. A lot of clubs have offered more than this in the past; Blackburn spring to mind. Blackburn aren't in the Premier League......... PASS IT ON the point is the rules are slightly different for PL But Blackburn were in the Premier League and gave more than 3,000 to away teams when they were.

Indeed, but that was not last season, the season before nor the season before that. PL are also trying to get some away seats near to pitch side rather than in the gods like Toon

'better track record'?? there will be many 'better track records' of away trips this season.. dont think for a minute that some of them have anything like a 'better track record' of visiting shitholes and watching us play in front of a few blokes and a dog.. this seasons away trips are therefore a false account of who we should be 'assisting' to go to away matches.. one scheme, everyone pays in and everyone that pays in gets the same chance to book one ticket for each home season card they hold.. you may or may not have lots of friends with season cards etc, its just the luck of the draw.. If you can afford to travel and pay in all over the country the 8 quid a month for the foundation does not seem a lot 'extra'.. If you say so, but it's only speculation. I for one have spent time and money visiting the aforementioned shitholes and I repeat - why didn't you/ he therefore buy a TOT card. It was spelled out for them/you that you would get priority if you did. been a season ticket/card holder for over 30 years and a member of the B&W since it started.. I pay in and I always get an away ticket.. might not this season even after paying in but I dont mind losing out to others that are paying in..

Blue and White members also need to be stopped getting tickets for their kids Why?? My kids have travelled the length and breadth of the country with me. Now an adult deserves a ticket more than them ?? Future of the club

Dayum.... Thanks for all your thoughts tho. Very much appreciated. I expect I will find myself in a few home ends and corporate seats then this season. Gutted as I much prefer to be with the atmosphere. #UTt You'll always have friends that can get you tickets with friends and family season card numbers i doubt it

The bottom line is, anyone without a season ticket as got no chance of ANY away games, and even ones with season tickets are going to struggle at some games, we have always had a good away support, its going to be even better now and i expect us to sell our allocation at every away game

So the Premier League now enforces a cap on away fans? Link? I sense you do not believe me? Well the Premier League has identified away fans as an important factor in people's interest in the division. Hence enforcing away fans moving pitchside and setting a price cap for away fans, to ensure that away fans continue to attend. The Premier League imposing a cap on the number of away fans would seem to hinder this cause, so I'd be interested to read the justification. I can't find a link online, so would be grateful if you could provide one.

I have not seen a justification per se but a number of PL sites quote same story this is from Boro site The ruling for the allocation of away tickets in the Premier League is as follows: "3,000 tickets or, if the capacity of the home club's stadium is less than 30,000, such number of tickets as is equal to 10 per cent." www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/listed-away-allocations-boro-receive-11412272

Assumed it meant away clubs had to give 3,000 tickets (or 10%) and that all current clubs chose to give the minimum. Would be odd to have a cap if clubs wanted to give more, as it would be in no one's best interest.

If I told you my 8 year old attended his first away at Sheffield Wednesday and my 4 year olds first away game will be at Old Trafford. Would you say that was fair?

I don't have the answer but a lack of forward thinking is goin to leave some folk very disappointed.
I'll pay whatever it takes to get tickets. If that means a points system where I have buy tickets for games I won't attend then so be it.

I'm not it it. But it costs far more than TOT Personally rather have a point system but if people who are on it pay a lot more than ToT so why shouldn't they get the same chance?? I'm hoping to get to as many away games as possible and have booked train tickets for palace already. But if I don't get them then hey ho There will be 3 disappointed people in my house having done 17,16 and 10 away days between us last season

Let's face it a lot of Town fans have been supporting Town up and down the country through thick and think over the last few decades. More of us than the available likely 2000 -3000 tickets we are going to get for away games.
I would not like to see a situation whereby the same 2000-3000 got the chance to buy these tickets for every away match. Think we need to ration them out somehow. It's not an easy situation to sort out!

Can't clubs give more than 3,000 at their discretion?

Just noticed a 'check your loyalty points' link on the official ticket site when on my account page. It doesn't work at the moment, but maybe this is a hint at where the club is going?
Or maybe it's always been there and I never noticed.
