Special thanks to Walton-on-the-Hill Terrier for curating & sharing this large collection of newspaper reports. A lot of time & effort must have gone into this. I have pleasure in presenting you with an historical account of HTAFC - told through photographs of newspaper match reports. A single clipping to start with from 64/65 - please enjoy. MIDDLESBROUGH - 30 March 1965

Middlesbrough - my first ever game, aged 10. I remember standing on the East Terrace with my dad. The only other games I saw that season were Sheffield United v Leeds United (why?) and Town v Bradford City in the WRC Final Bradford City - 3rd May 1965 West Riding Cup Final 2-1. Willie Fraser made his debut, scored two goals and never played for Town again.

The story on the 'Curse of the Aubogines' sounds a little quirky, is that the allotment the growers column? You must be dyslexic, Art. In the same vein, you will no doubt be thrilled to read the rugby report - to the right of the football one - and discover that Fartown had a player apparently called Wackybaccy!

Ha ha think I must, Aborigines, must have been the ultra far rights EDL weekly column then.

£1750 for Jimmy Nich, Wonder how much he'd be worth today! Probably a lot less, but to be fair he is in his seventies now
