If...If things go well this year and next, Wagner is going to be head hunted by a big domestic/European club. I imagine he would take Buhler with him (just get the feeling that Buhlers specialism is as a No2).
By then hopefully the Wagner methodology is fully embedded throughout the club. Could we be the UK version of Dortmund? And could we see promotion of Andy Hughes and Mark Hudson as a management team from within, to replace the departing Wagner?
In Football terms this is far, far future speculation and so many things will happen between now and August 2019. Food for thought though.

Hudson is very, very new to coaching & Wagner has some very big boots to fill. Hughes has shown he can do it on the training ground but the rest of the job, I don't know.
I don't know who I'd want (it's difficult to covet another manager when the one we have is so good!), but if Wagner leaves in the next 12 months then I would hope for somebody with better managerial pedigree than either (although I'd also hope that Hughes in particular was kept on!).

I agree, the timeline is wrong, not enough time for Hudson to have developed into full on assistant coach. He needs a couple of extra years.

Unfortunately I think there's a lot more to it than someone spending time with him and just becoming the next Wagner. What we have is someone who is unique and is likely to move on to much bigger and better things quite soon so I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts with little expectation other than that we'll end up back in The Championship sometime in the next year or two. Fortunately we also have Deano who won't be moving on anytime soon (hopefully) so we know that he'll be doing everything he can to replace him with like for like but that challenge will be his biggest yet I would think.

Dare I say, could be a Monk esc appointment when he got his first gig at Swansea, shortly after retiring. Not totally against it, he seems to command great respect around the squad and a couple years with Wag with do him wonders on the tactical side and learning the finer details I'm sure.

We don't know if either could manage .. would be a huge risk

I've thought about it & I reckon it should be Owen Coyle.
Owen Coyle wouldn't even need to be interviewed, we know what Owen Coyle can do.

Apart from being an Englishman and choosing to play and then manage a team who should be in the Welsh league, I quite liked Gary before he completely lost his senses. L666ds turned the poor sod in to being a delusional twat it does, the proof is there to see in the supporters

More chance of him being a Chris Powell than a David Wagner. I'd like to see us stick with the German manager and style of play when King Dave finally departs

Part of Moss's role will be succession planning, his job to ensure the club has an ethos and a blueprint. If we can get that right we can thrive even after the inevitable happens and Wagner leaves. Keeping hold of top professionals like Hudson is a step in the right direction for sure. I would imagine Hudson is future management material for sure, early days tho!

The People we have running the Club ain't daft, they of course know that Wagner and his assistant will go at some point, and that could be sooner rather than later. Contingency planning will be in place and I believe these Guys have a very good shout of being just that. I hope so.

What pedigree did Wagner have before he came here? Leading Dortmunds reserves to relegation. 80% of people weren't impressed when Wagner's name was mentioned as new Town boss. Anyone who says different is a liar

Suspect when it all shakes down, Hudson is more likely to work with the u18s and u23s and develop that bridge to the first team that we keep talking about but that didn't really seem to exist.
There's an opportunity there for him to fulfill a role that doesn't exist at the club today, especially if he continues to spend time in and around the first team building up his goes towards his license.
Think I heard/read he's doing his certification via the Welsh FA...wonder what the reasoning/benefit of that is?

Didn't Hoyle say at one of the Q&A sessions last year that Wagner's eventual replacement is not someone currently within the club?
I realise that promotion has probably changed a lot but I can't see it putting things any more in favour of an internal appointment. We'll have people banging down our door for a job if we stay up & Wagner leaves.
