It has been very busy at the stadium of late so apologies for not posting regularly. However I wanted to address three issues that have caused some debate and put across the Club's perspective.
Firstly the PA system. With new music planned for the season combined with the new big screen has prompted us to look into the PA system further. I had a meeting today with some of the parties concerned and posed a number of questions. In short the official site will carry a story on it towards the end of next week, but we will be getting some technicians in.
Secondly the away schemes. And this is a response to Andy also (and have only received one email?). We have asked for input from supporters and a lot of suggestions have been received (thanks for those). We are considering them but this is a difficult one as it will be difficult to please everyone all of the time and at some point we will need to make an arbitrary decision. It would be difficult to manage too many levels but as mentioned we are constantly looking at the scheme and are continually reviewing it. Also to Andy, in response to your email I am gathering information from relevant departments and will respond tomorrow.
Thirdly, the offer on tomorrow. I understand some of the comments made by supporters. However on this occasion (and there will be times when opinions differ), as we know we are witnessing a heightened interest in the club particularly from new and potentially new supporters. Consequently we want to lock them into the club and one of the best ways to do this is via the BWF (which of course supports our Academy). We also must at each opportunity try and continue to raise income for the club and try not to continue to call on existing supporters. As mentioned we are keen to lock new ones in. The offer which runs for three hours only tomorrow night is hoped to try and get more joining the BWF (and of course enjoy the benefits that that clubs brings)
I appreciate this may be cold comfort for the BWF supporters who have been members for years. I will say that the comments made have prompted us to look into the 'length of service' argument and that is something I will discuss with the lotteries team. I will say that we will continue to look at offers that will attract supporters to the initiatives we run. Not always will supporters agree with them but one thing is certain this is a new Huddersfield Town and with a fair wind these will be exciting times for all.
Sadly now until the season starts my time is very limited. However rest assured I am endeavouring to keep supporters posted on developments via the website and regular meetings with the HTSA (Marcus Middleton).
Again these are exciting times. Onwards, upwards and always forwards
Cheers
Sean

Any decisions yet on whether or not we'll be playing a bust of music when we score, or if we'll be adding all season ticket holders to the matchday attendances regardless if the person turns up or not?

Not going to play music - but will try something for first few games.
As for attendances - will announce numbers in the stadium.

Sean's a good man who works long hours for our football club. He does a lot of work and I think he's truly a credit to the club. Moving on, who the hell's this HTSA bloke he mentions .......

Sean - as a long time lurker, I really appreciate you coming on here and posting your views. As for the attendances issue - correct decision! People through the gates, that's what counts.
As you say, exciting times!

I'm sure being behind the club 100% is where we all are but i'm also sure that Sean would be the 1st to admit that debate and supporter input is invaluable at times. I'm sure that Sean will also admit that at times things look different from inside the club than outside and that is why the club are keen on a strong supporters group to keep working with them on certain issues. Disagreement and dissention is not alway's unhealthy. Looking forward to meeting you sometime Sean Thanx for the time.

Thank you for taking the time to post Sean - I think everyone appreciates you finding the time to address concerns
I still think the BAWF is a great idea and have no plans to cancel my subs but I do think the lastest signed shirt offer is little too much of a carrott for new members - anyway that's my opinion (probably tempered by spending £40 on a new shirt last weekend) but for me it was simply a debate, not having a go as it were
I think you and your team do an excellent job, especially last season when despite having a terrible product to promote on the pitch you kept coming up with new ideas to try and get people through the turnstyles
Keep up the great work and thanks for delivering on the pledge to try and get a new plasma screen. You're an asset to the club IMO

In Sean we seem to have a very genuine person who has the interests of the grassroot fanatical town fans . He appears to be developing a working relationship between the club and Town fans. something I dont ever think we have had. I know that he always replies to emails even if it is asking questions he couldnt divulge. Long may the communication continue. He obviously supports a club which is dear to him ? birthplace but he is trying to make watching town a much more enjoyable experience for all us Town nuts. great stuff. TTID.

Thanks Sean My particular concern was with the PA system in the upper reaches of the Antich Stand. Very pleased you're looking into it. Thanks for the prompt response.

Thanks Sean. Seriously, about the PA system in the Antich, a real marketing opportunity being lost at present. Many thanks for prompt response, hope we can get it sorted.

FAO All fans in the lower tier section near the away fans at Leeds at home game: A not so recent subject but been away.......... The Examiner printed an image of some of the "altercations" that happened towards the end of the first half against Leeds in the LB lower tier when 6 Leeds fans wished they were somewhere else. The photo showed some town fans faces with black dots over them. Why ? Are these under cover coppers hiding their identity OR are they what the Police want to save and use against these fans ata later date (possibly). Your views please guys............ (only asking as I know a guy in the photo whose face is blacked out)

All I can say is thanks Sean. As a fan, I'm getting my cake AND eating it at the moment. I couldn't ask for more. Never in my 40 years of following my hometown club have I been so pleased with things both on and off the field. We can debate until the cows come home about the qualities of certain possible players, but ultimately whether we succeed or not, one thing is for sure, as fans we cannot fault the effort being put in. Credit where credit is due. Thanks again from one happy town fan.

Never in my 40 years of following my hometown club have I been so pleased with things both on and off the field. Sorry if this is being a bit pedantic Ants, but are you REALLY saying that you feel happier about on-pitch activities now (finished Mid table in the 3rd division last year although some promise for next year BUT will it be delivered?) than say May 1970 when we were Champions of the second division or say Xmas 1999 when we were top of the second division. Personally I've never felt in my near 38 years supporting the club (the 38th anniversary of my first game is on 15th August) more like that I take a 165 mile round trip to follow the limited company Huddersfield Town rather than Huddersfield Town Football Club who I fell in love with so many years ago & with whom I've shared so many ups and downs (more downs than ups unfortunately). & I'm afraid that's an uncomfortable feeling.

If you know him surely you know if he's police?!
Possibly blacked out identifiable faces of people known to be innocent of participating in a crime so as not to imply that they are involved and potentially defame them?
