I don't think Town fans south of Hudds get the same intensity of rivalry as in Heavy Woollen towns, Brighouse etc.
Same as Leeds fans who live in North Yorks and other places don't see Town as rivals.

This. I live in the Colne Valley now and if I'd lived here my whole life I'd wonder what the hell the fuss was all about as all I see are Town fans and plastic mancs. However having grown up in Hecky and being at school while they were on a completely different level to us while spaffing money they didn't have on goldfish I think you need to have spent time in the 'crossover' areas to truly get it. And whatever they like to claim, it works both ways for those on the chestwanking side of the divide, even more so these days. Bitter doesn't do it justice.

Exactly......a Leeds fan brought up in Beeston would be equivalent to a Town fan brought up in, say, Almondbury (Although I know one or two Ambry lads in particular who DO hate Leeds), who don't see the other fans team in that way. However, to grow up in Hecky, Batley, Hightown etc, the years of ridicule and disdain will never be forgot or forgiven. As a matter of interest, how many seasons do we need to stay in the Premier league to equal them? Can't be many! Edit: and I still maintain that the feeling when Cowling nodded into that net in 82 surpassed ANY other in my Fifty years following Town apart from the Schindler penalty.

Definitely a two way thing here whatever they claim.
Never used to see a Bradford fan either though they are an equal distance. They were bobbins when I was growing up. There are a few about now but I genuinely don't know where their support comes from (outside the city obviously), even Wyke and Cleck probably have more Town fans

Jansson injured by running into one of his own team mates. Gotta laugh a little bit... Apparently they're getting sick of his "injuries" every time they're up against it

You can doubt it all you like, it's factually correct! Well it isn’t! If Leeds don’t get into the Premier League, and we stay here, then we would need to stay up another ELEVEN seasons to match their historic Premier League record. #actualfact 😘

If Leeds don’t get into the Premier League, and we stay here, then we would need to stay up another ELEVEN seasons to match their historic Premier League record. #actualfact 😘 You really are a bore Nigel. Tottenham launched all their attacks down that side intentionally. Whether that is because they knew VLP wouldn't track back (doubtful because they wouldn't have know if he was playing) or because they identified Lowe as a weak link is open to debate Or maybe they always overload that side regardless of who they are playing Their patterns during the warm up were all about pushing the ball down the right, forcing the defenders back, and then pulling it back where Kane had dropped off into space to receive it...always with forward momentum, even the backwards pass was to a player running on to it. You could see that drill playing out on auto pilot again and again during the game. Difficult to defend when the opposition is playing on instinct and doesn't even have to think about what they're doing, particularly when they're better than you. Personally I think we needed Hogg to drop off and get involved more just in front of our defense...but that's difficult when Mooy is just wandering all over the pitch and Ince is chasing shadows...it left massive gap and they just walked through us. Palmer or Williams would have dropped deeper and played more alongside Mooy in similar situations, winning the ball, rather than waiting for it. That for me is where we lost the game, a big gaping hole that Hogg, Mooy and Ince were getting hopelessly outplayed in. Shame you see the need, cos that post over the weekend was excellent.

Grew up in Dewsbury up Bennett Lane. Leeds fans everywhere. Use to really take the piss out of us when we were off to Donny, Darlington etc and they were off to Old Trafford, Highbury. Even my time in the RAF met Leeds fans everywhere and boy would they gloat. Now none of em seem to reply or get in touch. The ones that do have always been Leeds Rhino fans first. My take on Leeds fans is this. Individually they are OK, get a group together, add alcohol, and they turn into instant aresholes!

I was once told I had an unhealthy obsession hating L666ds Utd, not wanting to go shopping in L666ds incase my hard earned kept a L666ds fan in a job for example, now I wouldn't call hating them an obsession it's more a way of life to me, and to those that say they don't care about us, bollocks they care all right it's just their way of trying to put us down. Obsession takes hard work, disliking Leeds United is effortless!

I don't think Town fans south of Hudds get the same intensity of rivalry as in Heavy Woollen towns, Brighouse etc. Same as Leeds fans who live in North Yorks and other places don't see Town as rivals. Brought up on West side of Hudds so definitely not as intense though plenty of Leeds fans at school. The fact we barely played (bar a league cup tie in the Clough era) Leeds in a competitive fixture between (for me) the age of 7 and the age of 18 means that Bradford are my hated team.

I met a bloke I knew was a big Town fan when we were at school together in the 80's, in a pub when Leeds were in the Champions league before they imploded. He swore blind he had always supported Leeds. I couldn't stop laughing.....saw him at the Town game on Saturday. I hope you walked upto him and loudly pointed out you thought he was a Leeds fan. As people go he sounds like a complete whopper.

Leeds as a city has improved massively over the last 5-10 years*. Still choked with traffic but that's another story. There was a time I'd pay the extra to go to Manchester for shopping but there's no way I would now. Football aside, Leeds is okay. *=yet the White Rose Centre just got extended even though it's shite and a very old fashioned way of shopping these days. Some brown envelopes have greased a few wheels there, methinks! Sorry for the off-topic!

Maybe at the weekend there’s more Leeds shirts on show, given that’s when people are likely to have footy on their mind?? I doubt people who work in Hudds would notice many Town shirts in town at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon. Might also be why someone posted about Rhinos...maybe just cos they’re more likely to be worn cos of a Friday evening game?? I think I see quite a few Rhinos shirts around Hudds too?? (I’m only really in Hudds at a weekend, maybe they’re wearing them after a Friday night victory when they’re feeling proud?). Someone at school should do a study, instead of counting cars.

You don't see many Leeds shirts at all in Leeds center to be fair. To be fair with their current shirt, even the kids would need an xxxxxxxxxl just to be able to get their arm through the shoulder.

Obsessed with them spring s to mind. Too fucking right. Had 50 years of being in the same area as the deluded, football illiterate, deluded, self obsessed, deluded, did I mention deluded, knuckle dragging fuckwits, lording about their imagined triumphs. So pardon me if I continue to enjoy sticking it to the deluded pricks here and anywhere else I can. Frankly I'm just as sick of the fucking liberal let's get over it lilly livered L666ds apologists on here. On this subject one little tit on the way back from Palice said 'even my dad's bored with the L666ds thing now'. His dad must be 10 and/or definitely not from anywhere near B.O.D or Cleckheckmondsidge where the rivalry is always there. Jesus, even DW hates them and he's only been here 10 minutes... ......and relax!! Is liberal the new insult these days?

Much nicer to have a shop round and eat in compared to our town centre. Worked in Leeds for a few years and the day we lost 5-1 to them at their place, we had a work do in Leeds afterwards. Gave me some right stick for ages over that. As I was going back to catch an early morning train, I walked past the club shop (was on Albion St at the time) there were two town fans, worse for wear, shouting obscenities and throwing kebabs at the mannequins in the windows. Still, to this day, one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Chest pumping locals weren't impressed mind.

Full of modern bars and the like. Used to be Spencer's and prince of wales next door to the Scarborough that were a bit rough and ready if Leeds were at home
