It’s funny how Town players who aren’t playing for us are great but the ones that do play are crucified by some.

Scannel is very strong, fast and good positionally, you can rely on him to play where he is supposed to be. Not the greatest crosser (which isn't great for a winger...) but you can rely on him not to wander off and exposing the defence by leaving a gaping hole where he should have been. Very similar to VLP for me, both look like they should deliver so much more than they actually do.
Despite his quirks, Quaner would probably still get my vote as he brings uncertainty to an otherwise very predictable team. Having said that, I always liked watching people bounce off Sean in a fruitless effort to out-muscle him 😊

I'm all for him playing against the big teams. Having RVLP and Scanz either side could give us a chance to counter. We only had Flo with any real pace on Tuesday.

Bottom line for me is that a fit and in form Scannell is more reliable than a fit and in form Lolley. Lolley has/had more of a goal threat, but is a bit predicable on the ball and liable to wander off from his defensive position/duties.
Scannell is as close to a 'touch-line hugging' winger as we've got and gives us something different. Yes, in an ideal world we would have brought a loan signing in of a higher quality with a greater goal threat, but Scannell does add something to the squad other than another body.

I hope the Scannell that turned Leicester inside out in the cup one season is back. When he's on form, he's quality. All round nice bloke in fairness and he gives us body strength on the wing compared to some of the bean poles in Malone and Quaner(Love the bloke) we have.

One thing is a gust of wind ain't gonna put him on the deck like with Lolley or Sabiri.

Be good to see scans back, he will be taking his rightful place back as Huddersfield’s top shagger that’s for sure.

When he's on his game, Scanz gets people up on their feet. Problem is, he's very inconsistent. However, he's got a chance here he never thought he'd get 2 months ago. If he's given it, just hope he takes it cos he does offer something different.

We all know what he's capable of when on top form, he's an athlete, strong as an ox, quick and tricky. Not a bad option at all.
One thing's for sure its one hell of an opportunity for a player who couldn't get on Burton's bench a few weeks back.
On the subject of Burton probably too much being made of the fact he was on their bench, they're a championship team and actually have half decent squad. Sometimes moves just dont work out for players, some times players need to take a step down the leagues to re-find their form.

Hope we get some performances from him if required. He may be a bit like Ince though, assumed to be quick until he comes up against decent prem midfielders and defenders then suddenly doesnt look so pacey.

The bottom line is simply that Scannell cannot be any worse than what we have recently seen down both the right and left flanks
Scans when playing at his best has the ability to get past defenders , and could prove to be the breath of fresh air required to create more opportunities for our forwards

An athlete carrying a bit too much weight whos breathing out of his arse after 60 minutes! Don;t think Scannell has ever been properly fit since signing for us and i don;t mean injury free... just in terms of his fitness. Hes got a trick or two and is physically strong though, but in the same way as when we were in the championship, I can only really see him having any positive effect coming on as a sub for the last 20 minutes. The argument over who's better between him and Lolley is a bit mute IMO.. in reality neither of them are good enough for where we are IMO.

Good God, he has never been any good. 8 goals in his 180 games and i recall 2 of them were flukes. Not even worth mentioning him...Div 2 at best.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Wagner is looking at him as a option for RWB in a 352. Scanz does have pace and power. If he can take the bull by it’s horns he could do a job. How long until he’s back fit? Wasn't this tried in the pre-season friendlies? I'm sure I remember Scannell being RWB against Accrington and also for one or two friendly games after that.

Funny you should mention two months, that's supposed to be the time it will take to get over his groin injury as from the first week in January. Add on the three or four weeks to get back to Wagner fitness and who knows.... The 27-year-old, who joined Town from Crystal Palace in 2012, will be out for "more than two months" with the groin injury and will undergo his rehabilitation back in West Yorkshire.

Seems like the Huddersfield equivalent of Jiri Skalak. Someone who didn't set the Championship alight and was quite poor actually, but we haven't been able to shift him on, here's still here in our squad to make up the numbers but we'd all baulk at the thought of him starting a Premier League game.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man...
The sometimes unique aura at this club just now could mean this ends up being a master stroke.
However Alex (Oti) Ferguson has spoken so I'm not expecting much from him now. Unless there's a bit of reverse psychology going on with our resident expert?

We are crying out for someone to carry the ball and relieve some pressure. Is scanz the man? No idea but I do know I like how direct he is. If he's carrying forward then he does so. Unlike VLP who when trying to carry it forward does a pirouette, double twist, left right back and forth, left leg in right leg out then finishes off with a 3.8 rating belly flop.

Scannell has always been talented and strong on the ball too. As a hold up player I think he can do a job for us. If he's fit he can cover the line ok but I don't think he's a 90 minutes player. Who knows, the PL might just suit him very nicely. I'd certainly like to see him given a chance.

I'm sorry, when did Scannell suddenly become the messiah?
He wasn't deemed good enough to be in the squad. Got loaned out to Burton, sat on their bench, came back injured and is now going to keep us up single handed??
If this is where we're pinning our hopes then god helps us.......

I think you've just had an argument with yourself there...Who said he was the Messiah ? DW has said he's back in the squad, now Lolley has left ..some say he's no good, some say he can do a job...you obviously think he's shite. All opinions though...
