Quote David Wagner
'We recalled Sean Scannell from his loan during this window and he will take Joe’s place in our First Team squad as another option for us out wide'.
Looks like we've recalled him to do a job. Thought he was injured? Didn't pull up any trees at Burton. Is he the winger we are crying out for?

Thing is with scanz he has the pace and physicality to get up the pitch and relieve pressure which is what we need. You never know a lot of folks didn't think airfield was any better than league 1 he may surprise. He was in the stand Tuesday said he was back training.

Dean Hoyle sad at the Q&A at the beginning of the season Joe Lolley and Sean Scannell were not going to be part of the main team and were free to sort out moves. Sean went on the loan but has come back Joe has now go a move. Both are well liked but both are mainly squad players. Scannell so simply steps into Joe's boots at this point. I do think his physicality and pace will work well in the premier league. The question will be on if he has enough quality to step up.

Never rated Scanz but actually think he'll be more useful to us that Lolley. One thing he has always been good at is carrying the ball up the field - even if he does look like he hasn't a clue how he's managed it. We seriously lack the ability to get higher up the field, RVLP being our only outlet, so Scanz could play a part there.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Wagner is looking at him as a option for RWB in a 352. Scanz does have pace and power. If he can take the bull by it’s horns he could do a job. How long until he’s back fit?

I am in Sean Scannell's fan club but I think we are clutching at straws abit here.
He is definitely stronger than Lolley and probably about as good as him but with regards to scoring goals, nope.

Least he'll run at players and has a bit of pace. Won't get a nose bleed in the opposition half either.

I like Scannell but the idea of him being our saviour is stretching it a bit!

We would be clutching at straws if we think Sean will be the answer - he is like Lolley and Quaner - not good enough for premier league survival. There are others also in this bracket but we are discussing the wing - others not good enough include Malone and there are a number that are very much on the border or just below it.

Think it just means there is now a space in the squad and therefore Scannell might as well fill it.

We could all name players seemingly not good enough but they are part of the squad and hopefully if we get behind them they will bust a bollock and might surprise us with some moments of brilliance.

Well Quaner manages to get games so don't see why Scannell wouldn't be given a chance. No one is saying he's 'the saviour' I just think he will get game time.

Lots of people seem happy to jump on Scannell as supposedly not good enough while at the same time people saying letting Lolley go was a mistake because we need squad players to cover the wide areas. Are people forgetting Scannell was arguably our best player in the Championship until Wagner arrived? Lolley struggled to ever pin down a place in the squad at the same time Scannell was our best player.
My personal opinion is that neither are good enough to have any impact on our survival bid but writing Scannell off while people slate the club for letting Lolley go seems unfair when you consider what both have actually done when in the team. Scannell has had a much bigger (if brief) impact at the forefront of the team than Lolley ever had.

With Pritchard coming in it frees up Ince for his preferred position on the wing, Kachunga nearing a return, RVLP & Quaner the other wide options means Scannell won't get much game time.

Tbf Scanz is no worse than Kachunga and Quaner and Ince has been a big disappointment to me so far even on the odd occasion he's played on the right.

Sean Scannell, had a good pre-season & looked very sharp, so you just never know. He definitely has the ability - UTT.

Of course he will. Lolley managed to get games. He's stronger than Joe, so might be more effective at this level. He can carry the ball and get us up the pitch too. Like VLP, his final pass/cross is often found wanting, but we need players who can consistently take the ball up the pitch. Scannell can do that. In an ideal world I probably wouldn't be that excited about Scannell playing in the Premier League, but needs must. We are short of attacking options, and he has attributes that might just help us.

scannell wasn't a regular in the burton team so how on earth would he be good enough for the premier league, the team needs to try harder, wagner has to motivate and get belief into the players, and play to those strikers strengths. the long and short of it is get that dam ball in the box
