hi folks
Posting this following a suggestion that on the face of this might be sensible but also might be a massive arse-pain for all.
In recent times we admins have issued a few bans that have become high profile. There has been a range of discussion, conjecture and on occasion false accusations about the motives of the admins in these cases.
As we have stated before, we are a group of volunteers, fellow town fans and we always aim to be fair and transparent regarding our administration of the site. At times this can become frenetic and over the lost few years we've lost a few admins as they feel they get more grief than it's worth.
Anyway, the suggestion is a stickied thread as a record for decisions we admins have made. This would explain who had been banned, for how long and why, but would not include details of which admins voted which way, who reported posts etc.
Pros - stops conjecture, hopefully ends the mudslinging that comes our way Cons - may become an overly contentious thread in and of itself
3 options on the poll -
1 - a locked threads, which is only updatable by admins, purely for info only 2 - an open thread, meaning some limited discussion can happen, on the proviso that admins will shut down any contentious debate 3 - no thread
Voting ends midday next Wednesday, 13 June.

My only comment would be that in this day of new data regulations, you may have to be careful naming names
We are all adults do we really need to know who has been sent to the Naughty step and why? Could end up with some comparing one 'offence' and calling for someone to be banned for something similar

Also by submitting usernames/emails you have already allowed the data controller to process any given information.

Example of what a report from admins may look like:
"Grimois banned for one week from 1 January to 8 January for personal abuse."

So why not be able to check out the datm penitentiary and have a Exactly. If I was involved in a high speed collision I'd be well miffed If folk didn't slow down for a quick gander at my guts strewn all over the dash, and then stick a quick vid of it on Liveleak. (for god's sake no vertical videos though please, they do my head in)

Option 1, even though it may still lead to people starting threads going "wah wah oi you lot so and so has been banned for this and I know this person and it's not fair and why wasn't this person banned for the same thing and blah blah blah", but if that happens, just close those sorts of threads as ultimately they serve no actual purpose other than for people to moan about someone being banned.

Example of what a report from admins may look like: "Grimois banned for one week from 1 January to 8 January for personal abuse." Should be longer because it's premeditated.... Or is it a historic case? You need to be a bit more specific Grimois.....just saying.

If you get banned 3 times in a calender year you should have to do that 'shame' walk like they did on Game of Thrones
