I know its a bit of a dead rubber but I hope we smash them We wont. The Prem mangers will all have been ringing Southgate. Why this game takes place no-one knows.... mind you FIFA get £100 million in TV rights! Its an "everyone gets a world cup appearence" job...whilst little Belgium will be thinking "lets stuff these arse-holes".

I know its a bit of a dead rubber but I hope we smash them I hope not. Otherwise that would really piss me off even more that we bottled it on Wednesday. Should be playing France at 16:00 Sunday, not Belgium for the "Tinpot Trophy" on Saturday. I'll get over it soon!

You know the square root, nay, cube root of fuck all, yet again. It is a small country, huge passion. Small fry taking on the big fish. England will play reserves...i doubt Belgium will. I did not mean they want to win more on an individual level, but collectively. Dont shoot the mouth off until the brain has engaged.

It’s often a cracking game. Averages 4 goals per game throughout history. I wonder if he’ll play a half each for Butland and Pope to give every squad member a game. 3-1 to Belgium in my opinion.

You know the square root, nay, cube root of fuck all, yet again. croatia wanted it more.. kms covered, tackles made, shots on/off target etc etc etc.. add in their 'aggression' and you have a clear 'desire' victory backed up by the result.. modric covered more ground and made more tackles than our central midfield in total.. not sure how much more evidence and fact you need.. I expect the Belgians to work harder than us today, it might not get them a win but their 'desire' will be stronger than ours.. we might be nicer with the press and gareth is a super communicator but the draw got us to the usual 'pinch point' and thats where the desire and determination got lost.. its odd we usually accept we just dont have the bottle or the grit, because the draw helped we have got into this frenzy of how much better than usual we did.. Its not me being negative, the team start it on the pitch, forget the better interviews and smiley faces in training.. smoke and mirrors...

It means they played a different style maybe, or were made to run more. Made to make more tackles. Modric is a supremely fit box to box central midfielder. We don;t have one of those just now. The argument we didn;t want to win that game 100% is utter tripe. Just a lazy judgement because we didn;t get the right result. If Kane slots that easy chance at 1-0 we almost certainly win. Croatia were already looking shot at that point. 2-0 would have killed them. Then no one would be even suggesting that ' they wanted it more'.

Im used to blokes not being able to hack it due to physical limits and mental limits.. many of ours lost it 5 minutes into the second half, they not only changed their approach but their aggression and physicality dissapeared. It happens, why try to hide it? If its ignored again will it go away?? Croatia became stronger, in truth they should not be man for man any fitter than us but mentally they were, its just a fact, we watched it happen...

Danny Rose needs to get a proper pair of socks on and learn to defend properly.

More pointing going on in the England side than an Anthony Kay reunion! Just seen Maguire gesturing Delph to make a run with the kind of wafting motion one does when one has just dropped a particularly offensive fart.

Great player, but he's completely off it at the moment.

I don't think I've seen an England player sprint yet. The grey matter of a few players is riddled with doubt and disappointment.

Why has Southgate given Sterling another chance? He has been terrible again, so careless in possession

England look too slow in possession. Lots of tidy passing, but not enough movement or quality in the final third.
I don't think England are playing really badly, but it's hard to get up for a comparatively meaningless game and, let's be honest, Belgium are a better team. We don't have anyone near the quality of De Bruyne and Hazard.

Why has Southgate given Sterling another chance? He has been terrible again, so careless in possession Rashford must be wondering what he has to do to get in the team ahead of Sterling. In the ad break before the game they were advertising odds of 11/1 for Sterling to score first. Ludicrous given his form for England...

Why has Southgate given Sterling another chance? He has been terrible again, so careless in possession Sterling is very wasteful in possession. And at international level that's a real problem. His pace worries defences, but that's no good when his use of the ball is so poor.

His pace worries defences, but that's no good when his use of the ball is so poor. He is, but he’s also the only player on the England team prepared to try get the ball forward quickly - rather than dwelling on it, then passing it sideways or backwards, giving Belgium ample time to get back into their shape. Compare the way Belgium stream forward at pace at the first sniff of a counter attack, everyone looking to find space, with England’s approach - first get set, then move up the pitch slowly, side to side, most players static.
