Would we be interested in a completley new Town forum? I'd be interested in writting one from scratch. This site could be a stop gap.
The rivals site in its current state is not usable.

What do you have in mind? Trouble with keep moving around all the time is that things may get a little fragmented. We certainly need to develop some kind of "gateway" page where we can put match reports, Blast From the Past, Rogues Gallery etc and a link to the message board. Proboards are very user friendly and quite versatile in what we can post.

It's ok. I agree it's 'user friendly' but it seems very generic. I was thinking about creating a forum system from the ground up. An advantage I suppose would be that we could build the requirements around us rather than forcing it to be generic like Vbulliten, phpBB, etc.
I agree with you when you say we don't want things (being us Terriers) getting fragmented.

I don't understand what you find so wrong with this site, Mancterrier has done a great job - well over 100 members after 1 day, fans who only ever read the old DATM signing up and posting. What would be the point of starting up yet another board?

The problem with this for me is, it's just a board.
I like all the other stuff that was on DATM. If we develop this to form part of the whole package i think the experience will be better.

Hi BBB, Im not a huge computer whizz to be honest so if youve any ideas how to do it you are more than welcome... Its quite simple just to bob a few more boards on that are stickys and no one can post in with owd jims reports, match reports in etc.. feedback welcome... |

You're doing a great job, manc. Looking at the numbers already registered, I think that there are only a small number of stragglers to wander across here. PS Owd Jim's alter ego has already registered on this board. Bob Pepper might point him out to you. |

However there are some thinks I do like about this site:

spost own polls
Members profile is much better too.
However I miss the old DATM style, ease of web address (and for ppl who dont book mark this one)
I miss the photos etc, this is just a forum.
I think a total independent site like HTFC world, but has all the features DATM had. Go for it geoff.
I think this site, should defintely be a stop gap. Its rather limited, but is a lifeline so hats off to manterrier etc.

I work full time through the day so please bear with em if i take a while to get summat done as Im a busy lad. Ive tried adding bob and stan as moderators(opposites and all that ) but for some reason this board isnt givign them moderator powers even though they are showing as them.. If you have any ideas Id be grateful. Also Id like to share the work out so if anyone else wants to join the mods just pm me and Ill see what I can do... cheers again MT  |
