Currently in Filey as previously mentioned. Seen 2 United shirts and a Chelsea shirt but I’ve had one little boy about to his mum “that man is wearing a Town shirt”, had a young lad sing “Ooh to be a” at me and seen another young lad in a town training top. Loving it!! Also had a Donny fan praise us and a Barnsley fan ask about Williams. As a side note I’ve seen 1 Leeds fan but he walked swiftly past with no eye contact. Went to Filey every year as a kid in 70's. Leeds everywhere during their "glory days". The shops were full of their pennants and sew on badges. How times change.😊 Sew on badges. My late mum hated it when I got home with them, ready for her to adorn my Levi jacket with em 😊

I went on a tour of the rum factory there, worth a visit. The distillery looks good but the rum is 💩! Nothing but the best goes down my lughole. Hah, I got some kind of baileys type thing they do there and it wasn’t too bad, although that might’ve been because I’d been drinking goon for months. Rat piss would’ve been an improvement on that.

Just got back from British Colombia. What a breathtaking place. Like the Lake District on steroids. Clean, very friendly people, tonnes of brilliant wildlife. Drivings easy ( a pleasure even ). Probably the best holiday Ive ever had- would recommend it to anyone. Did learn the lesson that its not a great idea to have the seafood platter the evening before a 9 hour flight followed by a long drive up from gatwick though!! Did you get over to Vancouver Island? The wildlife is brilliant everywhere, especially by the big lakes (Salmon Arm for example). I love the way they put up a cartwheel on a pole and every one has a nesting osprey on it - although probably too late in the season to see that. See any bears? Yeah, we stayed at Tofino for 4 days. Really nice place. Went out on a whale watching trip and ticked one off the bucket list when we came upon a hump back and trailed that for an hour or so. Then found a weird thing called a sun fish, which is about the size of a bath but that was still a small one. Sea otters in the kelp, sea lions, bald eagles, golden eagles, elk... only saw one bear, a black one sat by the side of the road up near Banff, but we did a 3 day hike in the wilderness up near Jasper and saw plenty of footprints and poo, so they were around (so kept our can of mace to hand at all times!! )

Can anyone recommended any decent campsites in Yorkshire Dales? Preferably within distance of a bit of fell walking. (Serious request by the way) There's on in Horton in Ribblesdale. Handy for one or all of the Yorkshire three peaks

I lived in Edmonton, Alberta for two years. Banff and Jasper weren't so far away. Saw a lot of bears, but never a grizzly, which is probably a good thing. Glad you got to see it.

Humour? Not sure a career in comedy beckons to be honest ted! Comedy aside, Chinese Columbia might have been more accurate. They're having to make new rules on property ownership in Vancouver as rich Chinese folk are getting their money out of China that way. PS Count me in on a Filey thread. When mi aunty and uncle left Roberttown and took mi granny and grandad with 'em, that's where they landed. Gawd, that was a cold visit in wintertime.

A nice city but they do have a big issue with beggars and zonked out junkies who seem to be all over the place. There was one area near Gastown that we strolled into that was as bleak an area of any city Ive ever been in ( and quickly strolled out of!!)

It's all a bit more organised down here where we have tent cities under the freeway overpasses (which seem to be working somewhat, although at that unacceptable level, that needs to be fixed by helping with rehabilitation).

Sardinia as usual to 'see'the outlaws...totally laid back lifestyle till they start eating, then its talking very loudly, arm waving and hard stares??
its only the drink that finally calms it all down.. don't marry into the Mafia, you have been duly warned....
beautiful place, great food, great people but they do go from zero to a million in over acting in the blink of an eye..
her indoors gets the right hump when I whistle the Godfather theme, 'different place' she yells, whilst waving her arms and fixing me with a death stare...

Flying to Nice end of July. Two nights there, then the train on the french/Italian riviera to Alassio for six nights.. Exact same holiday I did 55 years ago as a 5 year old. Same hotel too I think, unfortunately not the same prices. We miss the first game of the season , so hoping it's someone really shit away.

Dont know what quite qualifies as a holiday but am planning many trips upcoming.
1. 3 days to the outskirts of Chicago this week. I coach kids (different sport) and it's the last tournament of the season.
2. 3 days to Toronto last week in July. My wife's first time out of the country. Going to explore the city and to support our somewhat local team away.
3. 4 days to Savannah at the end of August. Best friend's bachelor party.
4. 15-17 days to Germany, Belgium, (maybe) France, and England in October. Going primarily to catch a Town match and to experience that great Yorkshire weather!

Up and down Italy for 3 weeks, with a bit of Southern France tied in at the start. Not Sardinia obviously, after Galph's warning....
