Very coincidently I have Just been speaking to Jan in huddersfield.... bumped into him in the bogs. Hes a nice guy, said that we will be very busy In the transfer window, disappointed with how last year worked out, but then Kevin Keeganed me with the old "I promise you, this year we will entertain you, trust me, I will bring players to entertain" with that he used the Dyson hand dryer like a pro, went for the door! and turned to me and said... "beating Leeds isn't enough" very sternly and rejoined his wife? and a couple I didn't recognise. Does anyone know how to tag the "Didn't Happen Of The Year Awards" twitter account into a DATM post? I thought that too but I did see someone post a photo of Jan in that burger place that used to be Taylor Quigleys at the weekend

Sky reported that Erik Durm has turned down the chance to join up with DW again at Schalke. Interesting, and slightly perplexing, if true. Indeed. His Danish girlfriend was settled in Mirfield and only joined him to live in England. They were going back to Germany for her to give birth, you’d think they’d jump at the chance to settle there with a new born. Maybe he has other offers in Germany or elsewhere. Can't see anyone better than them wanting him, he was completely forgettable for us

In reality he was exactly what Dortmund fans said he was, bang average and often beaten far too easily. Think he is living off some impressive games as a teenager and never really kicked on.

Linked with Bolton keeper Ben Alnwick, don't know much about him TBH. Used to go to School with him when I lived in North East, was a bit of a prick. Yeah, but what's Ben like.

Id rather have Benazia Bhuto A bit difficult that: she’s a woman....and dead for 12 years. Not sure we are quite THAT desperate yet.

Ben Alnwick? Bloody well hope not. The very definition of a journeyman goalkeeper. Been around for some time now, achieved nothing and never will. No improvement on Ben Hamer. Bit of a worry if that's the best we can do. That's the calibre of keeper I'd expect us to sign as a number two before two years of £100M+ and parachute payments. We need a number one, Coleman is fine as number two so I don't get why we're looking at this one. Hopefully bollocks. If this is the quality of player we're looking to sign it's gonna be a long season. Cue mass derision for slightly negative post ;D Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards

We might be interested but is he? I think his wages would be a problem.

Reece Brown. Just finalising Tribunal fee. Happy with this. Son in law is head groundsman at FGR (daughter works ticket office on match days). Adam rates him highly, and everyone there will be sorry to see him go, but accept it's inevitable.

Sounds like 5 is pretty much done deal then things will ‘hot up’ in market and more will leave and be recruited. Busy window. Nice.

Have heard the names, apparently its Dave Dee, Dozy,Beaky,Mick and Titch. Have all been Xanadu players at one time or another. Should be good at free kicks as they are all able to bend it.

Reece Brown looks a promising player - I like that sort of signing. Low risk, lots to prove, hungry. 11 goals and 15 assists in 45 games is impressive, albeit at a lower level.

I suspect all 5 we're after will be similar. Young, out of contract, plenty of potential to improve further I think our days of throwing ridiculous fees around have been and gone
