Seeing all the build up to this game, seeing it dubbed as the most important game in world football. Thinking about how the Derby or Villa fans will feel if they get turned over. And how excruciating it will be for them if it goes to penalties. Scarcely credible that two years ago this was us. It still feels totally surreal to me . How the hell we did it I'll never know . An amazing day like no other
I think Villa's experience from last year plus the fact they have a 50m + footballer in their team will see them win comfortably.. but it's the play offs and as we've shown time and again anything can happen .

Derby looked utter shit for 75% of their tie then put a great 2nd half performance in at ER.
Villa had a good half in the 1st leg, but barely threatened apart from that.
I think it's way too tight to call. It depends which of the 2 sides shows up. I can see it being a pretty dull affair tbh.

No matter how dull it is it won't be dull if you are from derby or the claret side of brum. I bet we didn't create 8 chances in the Mansfield Sheffield and Reading games combined ! but who cares

I'm struggling to think of any recent ones which were really end-to-end.

I've just looked back and the last time both teams scored in the championship final was 11/12 with Blackpool v West Ham. 5 of those had 1 or fewer goals in the game. Blackpool 3-2 Cardiff and Reading 2-4 Swansea the 2 years before that were pretty good games actually. I remember the Reading one especially as it looked like they were going to overturn a 3-0 deficity. But still, they're nearly a decade ago now.

I thought Derby would eventually see off Leeds, and they did, and think they will see off Villa too. I feel the expectation is a Villa victory but also feel they will be under the most pressure. I will keep to my original theory and feel Derby will squeak through, somehow.

I suspect it will be better for us if Villa go up. Derby might lose Lampard and first dibs on a load of loans.
Plus my Derby supporting mate is a cocky bastard 🤣

I’d like Villa to go through, as they're the strongest team and the most likely to prevent Huddersfield winning the Championship next season.

Difficult to call this .... Villa and Leeds closely matched but I can’t really see past Leeds winning it 7-0.

Don't rule out John Terry switching clubs for the trophy ceremony if Derby win

simple, keep it tight and just win on penalties... works for us..all the grief and tension aside there is in the end no better way of winning it than with the very last kick..
Derby had one very good half against Leeds, they must have another one left after the years of under achieving at the death??

Hoping Derby do it but not really too bothered. Just thinking of how much I celebrated their win 12 days ago, so would be nice to see them finish the job.

I know it might not be a universally popular thing to say but I rate Jack Grealish really highly. That kid can run a game and it would be fitting to see him operate in the PL with his boyhood club.
Villa for me, easily.

My main reasoning is the fact they still have the memories of last year in their mind. I'm not saying derby will be happy to be there. But villa will be sooooo focussed.oh and they've the best players. Derby beat Leeds at elland road but I reckon the dog n duck would have done that .

Would rather be playing the current Derby side to the current Villa side next season. Still going to be rooting for them because of Holmes and Malone.

Charlton at times looked very inventive going forwards, but not afraid to throw it long.

Plus my Derby supporting mate is a cocky bastard 🤣 I probably want Derby to win - I'm totally not bitter about getting relegated so it wouldn't bother me too much if they won. Ironically, my mother-in-law is not sure whether she wants to win this afternoon or not - she's worried about the last time they were in the Premier League and the season we have just had. My son wants Villa to win - purely because virtually all of his Business Studies group are Derby fans and he doesn't want to think about the potential gloating next Monday. So that's all bases covered in our house!

Very difficult to know which team to back here as I would like both to lose. Which team do I want to lose most? I'll go for the team which will be hit more financially by not going up this time.

Hope Derby go up. I'm sure I read somewhere Villa would be in the shit with FFP if they didn't go up.

Hope Derby go up. I'm sure I read somewhere Villa would be in the shit with FFP if they didn't go up. Maybe, but they also have enormously wealthy backers who will eventually get them back up.
