When do we discover what state the pitch is in after the Take That concert?
I never see it mentioned in the countless threads about our poor performance last year but Wagner was deeply angry about the state of the pitch at the beginning of the season. It probably wasn't THE reason he left but it possibly was one of the early straws that eventually broke the camel's back.

If we can’t sort out the pitch between now and August we may as well give up as a bad job.

It probably wasn't THE reason he left but it possibly was one of the early straws that eventually broke the camel's back. The reason for the disastrous state of the pitch after the last concert was due to building the stage on the turf. Lessons learnt, this time as in previous events the temporary seating was taken down and the stage built where it should have been for the Little Mix concert.

It had actually recovered quite a bit after the concert last year by the time we actually played on it. I saw the pics of how bad it was immediately after but thought it had perked up for th efirst home game though far from an ideal surface. I'm sure lessons were learned.

We had one of, if not the most technically limited group of players in the league. A shit pitch would have been a big help for us as a leveller so I don't think we can use a bit of dodgy grass in the 18 yard box for 3 games as an excuse
What we should have done was plough up the pitch and smash it up to Mounie's head all season and play off him for the knock downs. We might have got a few more points than we actually achieved

When you saw the higher views from the camera you saw how bad a state it was actually in.

We might have got a few more points than we actually achieved I actually advocated this as a strategy during the summer of 2017 after our promotion. The last thing you want as a prem newbie is a beautiful pitch just ready for Man City’s all stars to stroll and pass around on. We should have had 3 concerts and a young farmers ploughing contest on there.

There was a limit on the size of bags they could take in. Dwayne Mattis was selling hot dogs on one of the catering stalls, lent me his pass. I've got my own hi vis already - got in, started knocking them out - sold out within 15 minutes. Went home, took a long hot shower. jobsagoodun
