Kane has put in two performances this week that Mounie would have been embarrassed by. Our Collin would do better.

Worst England defensive & midfield performance in a long time. Stones appalling, Maguire not far behind and Barkley is a complete waste of space. He plays at snails pace and nine times out of ten passes it backwards. Had it not been for Pickford they could have easily had six or seven. I completely agree never seen a backline make so many basic errors Barkley just kept putting extra pressure on the defenders.

Could be a great game tonight, hopefully an England win against a resurgent Holland. You got the resurgent Holland bit right .

Good at getting out of groups with the likes of Lithuania in them, England....still miles away. This is not the team of 1970 nor 1990. How many world class players? Two, maybe three from 30 in the squad? Holland are shit...Pickford made 5 good saves.

He could not straighten the finger after the accident. Mad as a box of frogs....and dangerous. I was once with him when a some Aussie guys set off fireworks in a bar....Mick smashed two bottles on the table and said "Make me jump again and i will stick these in your neck"! Needless to say there were no more fireworks! Remember him winning £20k on England at cricket and investing it in shares....always a one-off.

Playing from the back thing. Works a treat ask Town managers and England. There’s playing it from the back, then there is this comical shit akin to Town. Dicking about I'd much rather see us playing it out from the back than hoofing it long. Whacking it up the pitch brings other problems. You need to hold possession at international level. But... England have to know when to play and when not to. Always look to play out, but if its not on, its not on, and the ball has to be cleared. It’s what I meant. There’s playing it out from the back then there’s pissing about with it in and around your box

Well done England for getting to the semis, now lets concentrate on getting forth place. Might be a bridge too far.

Dutch deserved that, even if they were gifted a couple of goals. I can't remember what this tournament offers to the winners, but it just strikes me as a few football matches too much. As handsomely paid as these lads are, they'll be itching to get away on holiday before their pre-season training kicks in. My stream froze for their third goal. Was it the case that they gave us a FK for that race to the ball, Walker took the throw-in, but the Ref insisted on us having a FK that we duly FK'd up? Isn't it automatic qualification to the Euros?

Not sure what was going on tonight or explain how a team can make so many errors it started from the off and just never stopped.

I thought that, but then thought that most of the teams in these finals would have qualified through the qualifiers anyway. Or does it fast track you? I genuinely don't know, just seems like the governing bodies somehow need to invent things that keep the game on the front page for 11.5 months a year. Back when football was a Saturday game and you didn't have International breaks and games scheduled to present 7 days of football, the break from football made a lot of fans hungry for the season to start again. I'm not suggesting that fervour has diminished, but the more there are just blurred lines between one season finishing & the next one beginning, the more that supporters will drift away. I've mentioned before, this just all seems to be geared towards 24/7 betting markets, rather than the good of the sport.

Give the players a break FFS Yep,one of the reasons was to placate those who complained about meaningless friendlies and make them more err...meaningful, glorified practice matches is all friendlies were, this new fangled thing is the same with bells on, only two competitions that really mean anything for most teams in Europe is the world cup and the Euros.

Southgate was quite often seen down at the John Smiths watching town while Wagner was manager.
Last Nights England performance was so Wagneresque.

Southgate reminds me of Solskjaer at Man United. People thinking he is the bollocks but I've been there thinking since day 1 and beyond he'll end up getting sacked or resign with an even more damaged career. I may end up being wrong but I don't think I will.

conditioned players who are brought up with the 'belief' that its a very tough life being a footballer, thats why you deserve so much money and there are too many games so you do not have to perform in some, give yourself a break.. lose, leave the field and go on holiday whilst your agent and various hangers on sort out your life/money...
hopefully our best chance of winning something on the national scene is if we can 'infect' enough of the star foreign players coming here with our 'just do enough' attitude to give us a chance when they put their country's shirts on?? Its pretty unlikely though, the disease in this country is pretty well ingrained and some of the 'minor' nations are not only catching up in technique but are bettering us in attitude and graft..

They just want to get the games out of the way and finally have a break, in similar circumstances I would probably feel the same way. Utterly pointless competition.

Nope, everyone who finished top of their group, even League D automatically qualifies for a playoff place for the Euros if they don't make the playoffs or automatically qualify in the Euro qualifications. E.G Kosovo topped League D Group 3, so if they don't qualify for the playoffs or autos in Englands qualification group they'll still be in the playoffs. Same with England for topping League A Group 4

On the one hand we could say, well done lads for getting to two semi-finals within the space of 12 months, but again England fall at the last hurdle. As far as last night's game is concerned I think the Dutch simply wanted it more. Their manager played Van Dijk and Wijnaldum because they were brimming with confidence being Champions League winners, they didn't want a rest. Southgate on the other hand left his Champions League winners on the bench. To recuperate? Henderson came on too late to give the midfield a kick up the arse, and Gomez and Alexander-Arnold would have rocked the defence. Oh well, it's England so nobody is really that surprised in the end. 53 years and counting!

I likes me the Myanmar league I do!! Ladies. I went to Myanmar several times when it was opening up. I even went illegally. Those who remember Basher Bennett may recall he was there often and i bumped in to him in the dark on the Mekong. Anyway, there is a 500 year old Burmese tradition of girls juggling footballs. In the early 90's i tried to get the Burmese government let me take a girl on a tour of Europe. She used to shand on top of two high stools on top of each other then stand on upturned milk bottles on top of the stools whilst juggling two footballs simultaneously....on fire! I have never seen the like! ...and what about the ping pong balls?

Don’t think so...the league table positioning determined the seeding for Euro qualification groups, the actual “finals” seems like a bit of a waste of time...it’s like Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs having a little knock out after the end of the season because they like the look of the play offs.

Essentially they are playing for Prize money
€10.5m Winners €9.0m Runners-up €8.0m Third place €7.0m Fourth place The figures include the €4.5m all four finalists have already secured, made up of a €2.25m solidarity fee for all League A teams and €2.25m as a bonus for winning a League A group.
