They just want to get the games out of the way and finally have a break, in similar circumstances I would probably feel the same way. Utterly pointless competition. I am all for 'playing your way up the pitch from anywhere' but football does become very hard to watch when its about who makes the most errors when both teams are playing the same way.. not sure either would have scored without the huge dropping of bolloxes.. watching us sitting off at 1-0 up you can see the fuck ups coming.. if you play 'one way' and have systems set in stone for every situation and scoreline in the game you will end up doing an 'england' over and over again.. mixing it up seems to have disappeared from our game and waiting for a set piece seems to have gained a great deal of importance?

I do!! Ladies. I went to Myanmar several times when it was opening up. I even went illegally. Those who remember Basher Bennett may recall he was there often and i bumped in to him in the dark on the Mekong. Anyway, there is a 500 year old Burmese tradition of girls juggling footballs. In the early 90's i tried to get the Burmese government let me take a girl on a tour of Europe. She used to shand on top of two high stools on top of each other then stand on upturned milk bottles on top of the stools whilst juggling two footballs simultaneously....on fire! I have never seen the like! ...and what about the ping pong balls? Wrong country.

Southgate reminds me of Solskjaer at Man United. People thinking he is the bollocks but I've been there thinking since day 1 and beyond he'll end up getting sacked or resign with an even more damaged career. I may end up being wrong but I don't think I will. Two semis in twelve months...some people will beg to differ, ok last night wasnt the world cup or the Euros but we`re competing in the tail end of competitions, why he would resign or get the sack is hard to imagine at the mo to be honest, although they all move on in the end, pushed or otherwise.

You are right. Two Semi finals is pretty good for the National Team. IMO Southgate has got lads actually wanting to play for the Nation.

You maybe right but we can play better than we did tonight. You have to care in Internationals...the badge is the team. Watch the nationalists.... Croatia, Italy, Brazil, Spain. England players want a jolly. Iceland players want to win. No desire....no chance. Would this be the same Croatia and Spain that England knocked out in the group stages? So maybe the increasing lurch to the right we're witnessing in the UK has at least helped us to reach back to back semi finals?

I have just posted this on the Ladies thread: Ironic isn't it, I havent got Sky as I cannot afford to pay the fees. My National team play Holland and I am unable to support them, yet the ladies are on BBC and I wouldn't cross the road to watch them even if the gate fee was free. I wonder why the BBC showed the ladies game but didn't put a bid in for the mens game? Or better still why didn't Sky put the ladies game on and not the mens?

I was once in Hills about 1986...two lads from the pub came up to me and said "hey, we heard you know about horses". I just pointed at a 66/1 shot...a two year old first time out. It flew in and i never heard the last of it from these lads who demanded more winners...i did not have a penny on...i still recall its name....Okapi

Anyone got the big thread where Slapps keeps telling me England are one of the best teams in the world and Maguire is a genius....i would love to see it? England....bang average since D-Day.... 75 years ago. Erm, not seeing anything that suggests Im wrong. Getting to the latter stages of competitions is a good marker. Can;t quite say the same for your nonsense about all sorts of countries being on a par or better than us though. The best chance we have of winning a cup is for you to keep saying we never will.

Passionate, patriotic countries overachieve. The reverse dont. Fact A betting angle for you there then El Maestro? Not really...all big games are sown up. The odds are rarely wrong. I knew Luxemburg would not get hammered by the Ukraine....almost made a lot of money. Internationals are odd. Lower goals totals than expectation. My angle is pinching money. Not betting heavily at the moment....two more accounts closed down.
