Can we throw Mounie in their bus so they can take him back with them I really don’t understand this attitude towards Mounie, yes he didn’t score enough last season but other than Grant none of our attacking players did. He did enough in the first season for me to believe that he’ll be an asset in the championship when let’s face it the defenders are inferior to what he faced in the Premier League.

If he had put a bit more effort in then I might have a bit more time for him

Don't know and he's certainly not justified the fee we paid yet, but there is something to work with and it's now up to him. Have met him twice and he's a really decent guy....hope it works out for him!

In no way am I supporting his performances this season as I think he has missed several clear cut opportunities you really have to be scoring at prem level, however he did score the winning goals at West Brom away, Brighton at home and pretty much won us the game at Palace away in our first year up so I’d say he probably did justify the fee paid. FWIW I think he will be a right handful in the championship and now we have grant to take the pressure off him having to score all the goals I think he could have a decent season.

It doesn't matter how bad the defenders are if you put your headers wide or over the bar you won't score!

Let's get behind Mounie this season. He undoubtedly has the quality to score a shed load at Championship level. Summer break will hopefully be a chance for him to refresh and come back with the confidence he had in his first season.

The defenders in the championship will be just as comfortable marking him whilst he doesn;t make any effort to get away from them as the ones in the prem were, and the goals are the same size. Ive no idea how people can say he isn;t lazy. If you don;t put in the movement and make the runs needed to get in positions to score goals, then that is being lazy, surely? He just did not work hard,, at all! He would have to be totally unrecognisable in terms of effort , determination and ability to score anything like a shed load next season IMO.

Based on him scoring 10 (I'm counting that second Bournemouth goal) in his first season in English football in the most competitive league in the world in a side notorious for being low scoring. In a mid table side he would've scored a heap more. Having the ability doesn't mean he will though. He needs a spring in his step from an improvement of his confidence and application. Last season was abnormally bad from just about the whole team in terms of playing as well as they can do. Nobody's doubting Hogg's ability to run rings around everyone at championship level even though he spent most of last season pointing and shouting.

See, up to wagner leaving, i thought we actually played better last season than we had the previous one. Much more competitive in just about every game. The only part of the side that really let us down was up front. Both Mounie and depoitre were worse than hopeless. Mounie started off well enough in that first season, but as it went on he got gradually poorer IMO. The odd goal here and there but his performances gradually declined. Then this season they just got a whole lot worse. Just think hes going to have to have a totally different attitude next season. Needs to actually WANT to score and be prepared to put the effort in that might make that more likely. Maybe with a goal or three his confidence will grow and he'll be better technically too, because that part of his game was utter bobbins too. Haven't got much time for players like him that put effort in if and when they feel like it. Can put up with one being crap so long as hes giving it everything. Mounie and depoitre BOTH stole a living last season IMO. If he can somehow develop half of Hoggs attitude and commitment then he might be worth playing.
