I did a little research on this, going back 12 seasons. The choice of 12 was not to avoid or include particular data; it was what I could conveniently fit on my piece of paper. Some of you may wish to extend the work further. For clubs relegated from the Prem 2007-2018 inclusive and their subsequent seasons in the Championship 2008-2019 inclusive. 36 teams (though several repeats) 5 automatic promotion 4 play off winners 5 play off fails 2 relegated again 18 not in top 6 or bottom 3 What does it all mean for us? The 5 automatically promoted teams did not have too much player movement over the summer and 3 of the 5 kept the same manager.

People will be just happy to stay up as if we're in 2012 again when that would have been a success. These stats say we should at least be competing for promotion.

I'm presuming relegated ( Sunderland, man city).

Wolves and Blackpool also suffered dual relegation, so your stats are wrong. 4 teams with dual relegation in 4 years I make it.

Sorry - didn’t transcribe data well. The missing 2 are play off fails - 7 in total. The 2 relegations stat is correct. Wolves 2012 and 2013, Sunderland 2017 and 2018.

How many of those have been relegated and returned the following season on more than one occassion? (Thinking Newcastle and Burnley?)

Newcastle are the only ones to twice return immediately, as champions on both occasions.

I just want to see us scoring goals and winning a few matches again. I've forgotten what it feels like.

Started to read this - then Lesbos Women V NotInterMen came on an obscure Romanian sports channel - tough choice - continue reading or watch 22 football challenged women kick a bag of wind on a cow patch of a pitch in deepest Africa. Suffice to say it ended 28-1 to the home team......NotInterMen goalkeeper played a blinder !
