Best thing on the 1988 totp programme was all about eve. Good of the BBC to admit they completely ruined AEE's debut but had the decency to get them back the following week for another go. Tim Brechino is from Huddersfield or was born here.

Tim Brechino is from Huddersfield or was born here. So was Andy Cousin, the bass player. One of them went to Newsome but I can't remember which.

Up to about age 8 Glam Rock: T-Rex, Slade, etc. coz of mam's music and only one stereo in the house. Turned to Ozzy, Maiden, Priest and the like after my metal-loving uncle came to live with us. Teens, got heavier with Metallica, Slayer, etc. Now it's Slipknot, Lamb of God, Mastodon
But I'll listen to most guitar music and have even been know to bang one out to dance music at Wigan Pier.
Disco biscuits back in the day meant you would dance to ANYTHING!!!!
Used to get loads of weird looks at Wigan Pier with my Metallica shirts, long hair and spikes They were probably looking at you because you were banging one out. Perv.

Casual Skin Punk Goth Mod Rocker Biker Dresser Teddy Soulboy Heavy Raver New Romantic Shoegazer I was a Rude Boy. What, on Gods earth, is a shoe-gazer? From Wiki Shoegazing (or shoegaze, initially known as "dream pop")[2][11][12] is a subgenre of indie and alternative rock that emerged in the United Kingdom in the late 1980s.[1][2] It is characterized by its ethereal-sounding mixture of obscured vocals, guitar distortion and effects, feedback, and overwhelming volume.[1][12]The term "shoegazing" was coined by the British music press to describe the stage presence of a of neo-psychedelic groups[2] who stood still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state with their heads down.[1][13]This was because the heavy use of effects pedalsmeant the performers were often looking down at the readouts on their effects pedals during concerts.

Thanks...i never followed fashions really...mostly went my own way. Union Jack shorts..hanky on the head. Had a bit of a New stint...combat jacket..pin badges. My life was always travel, betting, birds and booze. Music ran through but it was never central...only went to about 8 gigs before i was 30.
