Yes it was Sheffield United, he promptly broke his leg though. The only thing I can remember him doing was scoring a 25 harder for Town against Chester same day as Hillsborough. According to Wiki he sustained ligament damage a week before the season started, and consequently didn't play a single game for the blades. LINKGetting him mixed up with Webster, it's him who broke his leg.

What has age got to do with it may I ask? I know plenty of people in my profession who are mid 20s and piss on blokes who have done their job for 20 years. Maybe you're a professional sportsman then? Or a rent boy appealing to peculiar tastes? ๐ Electrical Engineer, but cheers for the homophobic comment

Iโm sorry but I canโt get out of my head the nagging thought that you are in the porn industry? Are you?! Ah old man humour. Proper hilarious. Electrical Engineer, probably not worded right

Seem to recall him taking free kicks from up to 40 yards out!

Can't help thinking that Winter is out of his depth and using Josh Marsh as head of recruitment at age 26 is a mistake. I really want us to show some good signs but it looks ominous. I am afraid we are on a downward spiral. Hope to God I am wrong. Heโs not working by himself searching out players, watching all the videos, coming up with an offer and negotiating contracts without any assistance! Thereโs a whole panel of people involved. Julian Winter is currently heading that panel in lieu of a head of football ops. When the head of football ops comes in, heโll take over Julianโs role, and Josh will continue doing exactly what heโs doing in that whole process...so best get used to it. I donโt think itโs necessarily fair to suggest JW is out of his depth, although I do wonder if the apparent acceleration of attempting to fulfil that role ( its previously been stated we wouldnโt get one until after the transfer window closes, that seems to have been canned if theyโre interviewing next couple of weeks) is down to his realisation from his brief exposure to it, that itโs a job that needs doing full time. This role is only at interview stage. If the successful candidate is already in a post then it probably won't be until August or September before he (or she) starts

Actually ..... he started off pretty useless . But grew into a pretty accomplished player. We got a fee for him when we sold him to a better team. He then promptly got injured and never played again. He was only young and I reckon he would have had a good career spot on in your opinion.some on here havnt a clue

WINTER MARSH ETC HAVE FORGOTTEN MORE ABOUT PRO FOOTBALL THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW.let them get on with it because who ever we bring in they will be criticised by some and praised by others.but if you are to criticise winter and others speak from knowledge or don't speak at all.Yes you re entitled to your opinion but don't judge people who have better football knowledge than you and many more even if some decisions may not always work out

Maybe you're a professional sportsman then? Or a rent boy appealing to peculiar tastes? ๐ Electrical Engineer, but cheers for the homophobic comment No problem. ๐ IMO not a homophobic comment unless unbeknownst to me, rentboy has been reclassified by the liberal elite as a politically incorrect term. If it has, I offer my apologies and please substitute "rentboy" in my original comment with "prostitute". NB. Homophobic = "having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people."

Let's get summat straight. Julian Winter along with Liam Robinson were rubbish footballers. Remember going to Grimsby on a New Years day, we got hammered 5 or 6 nil. They were an absolute disgrace. And doesn't seem to have the personality for this job.

If I'd directed such a question at a female (i.e. professional sportswoman or a prostitute), I could not have been homophobic, could I? So how could I be with you? I might add that you have been routinely ageist in your comments on this thread: 1. "know plenty of people in my profession who are mid 20s and piss on blokes who have done their job for 20 years" 2. Your most recent response above. So I would be interested to know whether in your view ageism is a more acceptable discrimination than homophobia?

Without it, it wouldnt be asked. Its a bit of an idiotic question to ask, if im a rentboy. The obvious answer is no, so it isnt hard to ask yourself it really. Anyway lets leave it at that. Thread about Julian Winter, not some Off Topic style debate

I remember seeing him break his leg at the Baseball Ground, oh and his sister was (might still be) a tidy boiler, she was a sales representative for British Airways. Was she a Winter Warmer then?
