Ask people who is the best player of all time, for some strange reason people who were not even alive seem to be able to tell you how good a player in the past was. If you haven’t seen George best live or Maradonna or messi your not really the best person to tell others there wrong. Bollocks |

Cant gloat to others if you werent there. Plenty of full length videos to.cast judgement, being at a game and witnessing live, does not make it any better. |

Henry choked in most big games. Awful record against the better domestic teams, and cost Arsenal the 2006 CL final as much as the ref did. A brilliant player, but shouldn't be in the discussion IMO.
Messi is the top one for me. We're very lucky to have him and Ronaldo at the same time, and for them to sustain their peaks for so long.

Cant split CR7 or Messi....Maradona very close. What does it for me, Ronaldo has done it everywhere. Won Euros too etc. R9 2nd, done it everywhere again, not as good as Ronaldo has, won 2 World Cups too. Pele done it in one country(not including US cameo) like Messi has, but hes got 3 world cups to his name. Messi is great, but just showcasing it in one league and nothing on international level, with some world class players isnt as good as the Top 2 for me. Obviously my opinion of course I disagree....its a team sport.....Messi could have spent his entire career at West Ham, refused to leave and still been the joint greatest. 35 trophies, 4 Champions league which are equal to a world Cup...listen to the peers....5 Ballon D'Or. As for Internationals...what did Best win? Cantona, Giggs and Di Stefano never even played at the finals. |

Had he been playing with today's pampered superstars he'd have no doubt had a helluva lot more silverware in his trophy cabinet to add to the notches on his bedpost. |

Ronaldo and Messi joint as it stands, the only thing that will separate them is which goes on longer, which IMO will be Ronaldo just because he is probably genetically geared to, and apparently has similar fitness regimes to Giggs.
