Good on him. You feel old when one of the ‘Young Guns’ is now a manager......; )

Holdsworth is in a similar role at Sheffield Wednesday. Would love to see them involved in managing our first team one day.

Was thinking just now about that side. Worthington was an exception but a huge amount of that 2004 promotion side made their debuts that season. Then to almost go up again just 2 years later when they're all still in their early 20s. Staggers me to this day that none of them (but particularly Worthington and Holdsworth) played at anything like as high a level after leaving Town.

Both careers cut short by injury but in the case of Holdsworth, his agent fooked his Town career after Clark offered him a new three year deal, but then withdrew it after they took too long to sign it.

Mirfin sort of did...pretty sure we were still stuck in League 1 whilst he was in Championship with Scunny and Watford?

I'd say both played too many games too young. In Worthington's case I'm thinking of the season we flirted with relegation when he played when he wasn't fully fit. Absolutely. Ironically Tom Clarke ended up having a better career because he missed so many games through injury.

BEST OF LUCK its a great opportunity. AND HE IS UP FOR IT
