Been told the fanzone will move to the part of the car park behind the fantastic media stand where the tv crews parked when we were in the PL Also there were question marks over parking around the ground because of plans for the HD one development. Could be tricky parking next year. Gas works is an option of course. They'll be able to turn all the proposed HDone land into car parking when they finally admit it was a shit idea and won't be being built now Absolutely. As for Canalside, it was decent to be able to take the lad there and see some players, but you can understand why it’s going. The beer was awful anyway. For me, not him of course. The pampered little overpaid darlings won’t want the great unwashed hanging about when they’re practising the Van La Parra roll anyway. The bowlers won’t be right chuffed. Hell hath no fury like a bowler that loses his favourite mark on his own green.

It was put on hold when season tickets were being sold, but now the club have confirmed parking in the St Andrews car park will be as normal.

Im the Canalside Datm HTFC world bowling champion,so they cant stop me parking there I'd forgotten all about that... Do you have a parking spot similar to golf club captains, where you can't use the space even if the bloody captain has been in traction at HRI for 6 months? You should insist on a plaque as well, bit like that gold post box nr St Georges Sq...

Seems like a first world problem to me, folk will sort themselves out with little fuss I expect...

I suppose we eventually got Kingsgate, so maybe we'll have a HDhalf sometime beyond 2025 & it'll have a driving range, bowling green and the usual smattering of franchised coffee shops etc.

By closing Canalside its just another nail in the coffin of the club drifting away from the fans. So in six weeks time will there be another fanzone for the start of next season, will it have the same quality of food, will it have the small football pitch for the youngsters, will it have the community atmosphere I think not. In six weeks time will it happen probably not. The board don't seem to realize that the fans want to be part of the club, want to know the future plans and want to enjoy being part of it. Last season the club was a complete shambles and I get the feeling that in the coming season it will be exactly the same again.

If Canalside being closed to the fans isn't temporary and if they don't create a good alternative, it ain't great for some, but you need to get some perspective.
DH has given you something that virtuly no other club has, so don't hang him out to dry if he's struggled to maintain it in the new plans.
Hopefully the staff impacted are involved in any alternative too.

Our group come from Kirkheaton and Golcar, we don’t even venture down that end of Leeds Rd on match day but would be great if we could take the kids to a fan park by the ground. When it’s pissing it down and minus 2 in December who wants to trawl all the way down Leeds Rd and back again with a load of moaning kids?

I never blamed Dean for anything,my point is that canalside is now in the past will it be replaced in the future. As for the fans from Kirkheaton and Golcar you will never know what you missed, there were question and answers with Dean,David Wagner,Andy Booth, members of the board, the football coaches, well known football celebrities, the Director of football, etc. It was not just a match day experience. In short communication with the fans

I know it's been raining for the last three weeks but how about searching for some sun in your life? The club are seeking to radically upgrade their training facilities to a top Premier League standard and you're worried about the fans pre-match hot dogs - how can a club which has sold nearly 18000 season tickets be 'drifting away' from its fan base after having the season which we've just had?

Just used Canalside as one of the many problems the club must be facing.New owner,no director of football, our new coach Jan Siewert, player recruitment, Dean having to sell, only 40% ownership of the stadium, etc. Time now to look forward to August and win or lose I shall hopefully be at every match home and away.

Not disputing that some form of link is disappearing but Canalside was always too far from the ground for pre match events anyway, in my opinion. Fan parks are the way forward, not everyone’s cup of tea but West Brom, for example, have a great fan park next to the ground. They need to plan for this as the way forward. Just talking pre match events. With the proposed new fan development even further away down Leeds Road! It’s been said a hundred times but surely the way to go is to build something in one of the disused car parks around St Andrews Road or buy the Gas Club. Or at Bradley mills bowling club.
