Now the takeover is official, surely as fans we deserve to know how much Mr Hodgkinson has paid for his 75% control? or is it being funded by the parachute payments either in whole or part? Anyone in the know?

It's nothing to do with you To be fair, as someone who campaigned as long and hard as you did on the share issue, I would have thought you would want as much transparency as possible What's the big secret on the fee paid? A lot of deals are often public on the amount paid

I don;t think fans have a right to know the ins and outs of their business in any detail at all. But , if there is a genuine concern that Town's parachute money is being used to fund this takeover ( and for some there clearly is ) then i think they have the right to ask the question. Whether you get a reply or not is up to PH.
I guess hes agreed to do this Q & A evening in the knowledge this kind of speculation is out there and hes likely to be asked about it.

It's been proven time after time when the fans get some news it's misconstrued, those who cascade it misquote or don't quote in context, people don't understand the topic enough to take anything from it, etc. It's dangerous saying too much. Howecer, hopefully that question leads to a black and white answer!

It's not the same scenario though and,in truth, I sincerely doubt Dean would have done any deal to anyone that was of detriment to his and our club.

I really don’t get the big deal why people want to know certain details about the club. Why does it matter? So what if the parachute payments are linked to the sale, clubs are generally run by businessmen primarily for one reason and one reason only. Do you think any owner of a business thinks ‘you know what, I wouldn’t mind buying in to that but I definitely don’t want to make any money from it’. People are obsessed with what other people have or want. Generally talkers, not do’ers. The lad will have got where he is by working hard, he decided to take a crack at this, fair enough. I wouldn’t dare attend the Q and A out of sheer embarrassment of some of the questions that will be asked.

You're probably right in this instance as its two honest blokes who've done well for themselves and can be trusted But if everyone took your approach in life then a lot of things would go undiscovered. If Mids thought like you did then would we have ever known the shoddy dealings that Ken had done?

Leave the idiotic questions to the idiots. They’re the ones who will be embarrassed. Ask a sensible question about something you’d appreciate an answer to, if possible. You might enjoy it and it might be enlightening. I wish I could go, but I can’t just nip along to the cinema, unlike most can.

Bore off 😄

I would say that if parachute money has been used to fund the purchase of the club it has everything to do with us as fans. That money is supposed to be there to safeguard the future of the club not to pay off an outgoing chairman. As custodians of the club we are ultimately the ones shafted when we end up skint because of such dealings

So you could argue he's entitled to use them to cover what he's spent

As custodians of the club we are ultimately the ones shafted when we end up skint because of such dealings It would be good to know, if this was the case, but this wouldn't likely be us being shafted, it would be DH having his debts paid off. His millions got us to the Prem, whilst also doing all sorts off good off the pitch, including giving us comparatively dirt cheap season tickets. I'd be disappointed if it was the case, no doubt about it, but I would not feel shafted in the slightest.

So say Dean repays himself the £50m or whatever it is from parachute payments in the futute, and hands the club over to Phil for a nominal amount. Is that really a bad thing?
Phil can inject what he can without worrying about cashflow. Dean gets paid in installments. We still have more than enough money to run on.
Sounds fine to me.

Well everyone knows PH is broke right so it stands to reason he isn’t paying anything at all for the club. Dean is probably paying him to take it off his hands.

I'm not saying it has happened, but if Hoyle had pad the club over in exchange for some instalment payments from the parachute payment, he's only taking back what he put in to the club in the first place. Hes invested around £50m to get us in the Prem. If the club is now worth £80 with £100m of parachute payments due, why should he not take some of that money? PH then takes over the club without actually paying anything, but can invest a he sees fit just as Dean Did.
