But... Don't you think that the level of negativity is so large that this prank probably hasn't been the success that someone thought it would be? I don't think I've ever seen fans as disappointed as this before in relation to something that the club has done. It's causing a massive rift in the supporter base. Yes, it might all be forgotten, forgiven and laughed about in years to come but right now it's no laughing matter for a good percentage of Town fans. I certainly do have a sense of humour but, as someone else has posted elsewhere, the world is not laughing with us in this, they're laughing at us. Again. Just like they did when we failed so miserably last year.

New name for this website where there are so many negative comments. Speak for yourself, I'm absolutely loving DATM at the moment . As Sherrif said, it's confirming that there is a minority of "paint chip-eating, mouth-breathing" morons inhabit this board. The PP story has allowed all of them to break cover at once.

its not as bad as watching us not try to win football matches.. I found that more embarrassing than the team running out naked with the tattooed on their arse but trying to win the game..

New name for this website where there are so many negative comments. It’s a really good masking technique, nobody has even commented that the EPL logo was replaced in the DATM header with the stupid dog rather than the EFL or Town ....

Just like they did when we failed so miserably last year. I do think that Sean must feel he is treading on eggshells with anything he does relating to the strip (e.g. this, last year's terrier badge). People appear to have got disproportionately (IMO) upset by this, including some more usually balanced posters, such as yourself and Ritchie. So I respect these opinions more than I would do if it was just the usual kneejerker idiots, mentioning no names. 😀 Nobody has died, it is believed to be a temporary stunt, we're not being renamed "Huddersfield Terriers", the main strip is not going to be red. Etc. Etc It also seems to be the way of the world at the moment that everybody has to take a binary position, be it a sash on a football strip, Brexit, the merits or demerits of a particular football player. Nobody ever seems to say "it's ok" or "not keen, but it'll be fine". For me, the strip is important, but for me it is not hallowed and sacred like it clearly is for some people. I personally think the viewpoint that the strip and badge are somehow sacred is a little OTT and the wife who is merely a cursory Town fan thinks it is positively weird. I equally disliked the dotty shirt of a couple of years ago, as much as I would do the sash kit, but I am expecting the latter to be short-lived.

'years'? a ten game unbeaten run should make it go away never to return until we lose a game then its back to an unlit cellar with the keyboard set to 'gloom'... I am thinking its time to go back and blame the board for not backing Ian Greaves or when we sold Marcus, the gloom can be built on from there? Last november onwards seems to have been forgotten since we 'wore a sash' and that really, really fucking mattered..

Could be trouble outside the ground as the Sasha Barons and the Sasha Dispellers face off at the first home game.

where is this massive rift of which you speak ? And just how many years will it take to jilt the stigma ? I'm not judging it solely by DATM. I know lots of Town fans here at home and also across the globe; not one of them sees this as amusing or of benefit to the football club. You will now counter that you know lots and they do see it as funny; fair enough. I am simply trying to show that a lot of the fanbase is unimpressed. You're never going to please everybody... blah, blah, blah Edit And just for balance, I have friends who support many different clubs and they are divided over it too. Those thinking it funny say it's hilarious but - they would be incensed if it was their club at the centre of this shitstorm

Whilst we're whingeing can we (as MT has pointed out before) remove the prem league lion logo from the DATM header? The fixtures are out, we are well into pre season, I think we can accept we are no longer a prem club now.

You obviously know too many people who take themselves and minor things too seriously, how do they cope with real life shit?? The 'lot' of the fanbase you speak of is just a bit of a poke in the dark guess.. You will lose a lot of support if we win a few games and you will gain a lot if it starts badly, whats new in football? I hope the club are going for investment and sponsorship and to win games with a bit of a grin chucked in, impressing certain parts of the fanbase is and always has been fucking impossible..

All I think we prabably need to change the PL lion in Down at the Mac back to the way it was two years ago, although the more optimistic may like to leave it there as we may only be gone for a year! Both myself and Grimois don't have super-admin privileges in order to do this. Someone kindly changed it but neither of us can remember who. If you are that person, could you please message me. Sorry but to refer to the shirt as a minor thing is understating it a bit. If a player threw the shirt on the ground you wouldn't be there saying 'it is only a shirt doesn't matter'. The shirt is representative of the club, when players put it on they are representing the club, it's history, the people who pay to watch now and previously and it deserves respect.
We are asking players to fight, show pride and give there all for the club and by treating the shirt in this way is very disrespectful in my opinion. The fact this has gone on for over 24 hours the joke has worn off.
You are asking professional players/international players to wear something that looks unprofessional. I am sure Jarvis wouldn't wear a Green Paddy Power suit when entertaining potential clients.
Rather the club was being recognised for winning or at least playing entertaining football on the pitch then some 2 bit Paddy Power promotion who are the only people who will benefit from this. If your only hope is the club going for more money, how much do you think PP will paying for this, how much do you think that is as a % of the Parachute payments? Do you think this type of nonsense will help when trying to recruit players.
If you are comparing this in the scale of world events then yeah of course it doesn't matter, it is all relative a club issue this is a big deal whatever side of the argument you rest.

We will benefit from having a big sponsor, we get money for it. ? its extra income and you really do not have to do much to get it.. laughing at ourselves is small beer in relation to having owners that are very fucking unpleasant.. next season we should get 'Viagara' or the 'Samaritans' as shirt sponsors depending on how this season goes???

Your first paragraph says 'we just carry on?'
Where did I say I support clubs owned by Human rights abusers or gangsters? People will kill others people doesn't make a blind bit of difference to our home shirt does it? If you are comparing this on a scale of world issues you will find it no argument it is of no significance. All of Football is probably insignificant when looking on a global scale.
If your big deal is how much money the club makes would you be prepared to change the name of the club if they paid us enough, would you be prepared to move the club if Paddy Power or anyone paid us enough??? The shirt they released yesterday is frankly unprofessional and we should have standards as a club we uphold and we have fallen short of that. People aren't laughing with us they are laughing at us, we are the people who are asking what everybody is laughing at only to be told it is us!
We have no control over other clubs or there ownership so saying there are worse out there is not really relevant as we cant control that? What we can do as a club is act and behave in a respectful manner and more importantly have some pride in the ourselves. We were a laughing stock last season I don't want that to carry on into this season. Straight out the bat if that is our kit going into the new season (which I doubt but until we get an alternative we have to assume that it is) you cant be happy if we walked out against Derby wearing that?

Can we change this threads title to Dummies At The Mac,,, It seems to be attracting a few.
We could also have a poll with all the offended moral high grounders/nouse lackers and vote on who is the most Stoopid and gullible.
The poll may go down for over half a page, So don't just vote for one of the top ten,, Check out the other 20 or so.
And for the folks in the voting poll, please don't worry if you see your name at the top as it will be done in alphabetical order and someone at the bottom could well win.
Good luck and don't forget the winner will get a sash shirt and 20 free spins on catch the pigeon.

And this is what happens when people try to debate or put forward arguments; you get called names and/or sworn at.
FWIW, I'm not expecting us to wear the sash from Derby onwards, although I'll be horrified if we do; for me, the damage has already been done. It's an opinion, to which I and others are entitled, and we shouldn't have to suffer a volley of abuse in return.
