There's no pleasing some people. Verily. Some people are happy to be annoyed, irritated, angry etc....... Maybe we should just remain "little old Huddersfield"......which people seem to moan about quite a lot. That might please them.

The shirt amnesty sounds interesting. I thought so too. So does that mean if I pitch up on match day 1 with an old shirt, sponsorship logo intact (which could be a loophole!!), I get a brand new Umbro shirt for free? That's how I'm reading it. Can someone sanity check that for me please? Furthermore, the bookmaker will stage a ‘shirt amnesty’ outside Huddersfield Town’s first home game against Derby County on 5 August for fans to hand back older branded shirts and receive an unbranded version.

The shirt we play in is exactly the same shirt that you can buy in the shops (or at least it was when we were in the Premier League). I was in the dressing room pre-match last season and amazed that we don't play in some form of hi-tech, super breathable, designed to fit kit. They get the choice of S M L and XL like the rest of us. Well, thats a little unusual as years ago the strip you purchased in the fans shop was different to the shirts which the players wore. The team strip was all wicking and made of a different material. Things must have changed? Been like that for ages...I ended up with a shirt off a players back and it is exactly what you’d buy in the shop...(albeit miles too small for me).

So basically they couldn’t get a sponsorship deal/sort one in time and so have treat us all like mugs and turned their poor planning and usual lateness in sorting the shirts round on us the fans, with a last minute deal with PaddyPower for this stunt! Shirts without sponsors look shit, look like the club couldn’t find a sponsor and let’s not lose sight of that’s exactly what has happened here - they have just created a smokescreen and noble cause to cloud it! Ffs please do not, I repeat do not breed.

Looks fantastic. I remember one of the blue and white la liga teams going with out a sponsor a few years back which i really liked, either Espanyol or Deportivo.
Real Sociedad have had shirts sponsor free in the past and I am pretty sure they are sponsor free this year, Always seem to have aesthetically pleasing shirts.
I only know this shite as they are my Spanish team (toshack days) and Blue n White striped of course.

They do about 6 shirts every season, One for each of the cities districts.
We really need to have a Coq strip one season,, Awesome kit wear and parphinalia, Though St Ettiene always seem to knack their strips up with shite sponsors.

Noticed this at the end of the article from Lee Price at Paddy Power “I don’t want to give anything away, but it will become apparent in the early weeks of the season that we want to work with the club and the fans to celebrate this unique, ground-breaking thing we’re doing.” Wonder what else they have up their wizards sleeve? Maybe we'll win a game?

If we are truly behind this unbranded/no visible sponsor kit. And the Paddy Power deal being only for 12 months. Do you think we should expect all future kits to sponsor free?

I don't think we should expect it. It's a PP initiative and I imagine we've bought into it for the duration of the unsponsorship deal only.

Certainly not no, If the miracle happens again we will be back to a few big letters and some smaller, well, whatever they tell us it means or says in Chinese.

Someone should knock up a "Thankyou PaddyPower" banner for the first game after that masterpiece of a kit and the promotion of it.

Or thank you SJ From reading the report from paddy Power they approached a few clubs who were unwilling to get on board SJ saw something in it and took the plunge knowing he might get a backlash of abuse (which he's getting used to due to some fanny badgers on social media) To be fair the club were brave but as shown with JS appointment (Martin from Wakefield) we can have a laugh as a club.

It seems like Man City are entering into the spirit of things judging by the awful strip they were wearing in today's Asian Cup defeat to Wolves (on pens)
