First up, I love the new kit. Well done to all. However, I had a laugh at this. A cynical ploy by well known bookies to stop the internet based/foreign companies getting any exposure and therefore cementing their market share. The same reason many were in favour of the ‘whistle to whistle’ ban. Self interest dressed up as social responsibility.
Paddy Power MD added “So today we are calling on other sponsors to join the Save Our Shirt campaign, and give something back to the fans.” Thanks.
Adult shirt £48 Junior shirt £38

So basically they couldn’t get a sponsorship deal/sort one in time and so have treat us all like mugs and turned their poor planning and usual lateness in sorting the shirts round on us the fans, with a last minute deal with PaddyPower for this stunt! Shirts without sponsors look shit, look like the club couldn’t find a sponsor and let’s not lose sight of that’s exactly what has happened here - they have just created a smokescreen and noble cause to cloud it!

Jings I didn't really like the whole shirt stunt and still don't but you need to move on. Is a nice shirt (not a fan of the black border but that is just nit picking haha), away shirt is a lot nicer but that that is all opinion.

Fuck me.
Every single thing is being made into a negative.
Massive sash on shirts with a sponsor - gambling company taking advantage of people, taking the piss.
No sponsor on shirts - gambling company taking advantage of people, taking the piss.
They could have given it away for free and fans would still find a reason to moan.

I agree. It's like buying a car without a sponsor on the side. They look shit as well. What a twat! I haven't bought a Town shirt for years because of the sponsors plastered all over them. I'll be buying this one and there'll be a lot more who don't want to be walking advertisement boards buying them as well. Well done Town. UTMT

Barcelona spent many years refusing to have one or in your world, they struggled to get a sponsor.

I've got to say I don't think shirts needed saving so I kind of agree it is bollocks.
What would be absolutely brilliant is if PP 'allowed' the club to advertise local charity or charities instead. Some superb local and national causes that would be absolutely delighted to receive this type of exposure. As long as it was done right and didn't look like a dogs dinner on the shirt I think it would be a brilliant gesture.
Otherwise to be perfectly honest I don't see the point in having a blank shirt, just makes a stunning shirt look a bit plane and dare I say it Sunday league. I remember as a kid being quite excited when Town had their first sponsor as it made the club look important!
I seem to remember Barca having Unicef, not sure if they still do but something along those lines would be awesome and PP could bask in the glory of actually making a difference rather than a silly made up "save our shirts" campaign which nobody gives a shit about in reality.
Maybe there is more to come from PP and Town on this....

Fairs fair I wouldn't describe those first three as 'the going rate'. The Leeds replica is actually £50 anyway. I presume the more expensive one is if someone wants the exact same version as the players use, which we don't offer. shop.leedsunited.com/SHIK19101

Noticed this at the end of the article from Lee Price at Paddy Power “I don’t want to give anything away, but it will become apparent in the early weeks of the season that we want to work with the club and the fans to celebrate this unique, ground-breaking thing we’re doing.” Wonder what else they have up their wizards sleeve?

I was in the dressing room pre-match last season and amazed that we don't play in some form of hi-tech, super breathable, designed to fit kit. They get the choice of S M L and XL like the rest of us.

Must have took some effort to think of a negative. Not quite managed it as your view is clearly made up nonsense. Town set shirt prices and Town get the profit. Superb PR. Not going to begrudge PP a slightly contrived angle. Love 'em.

Looks fantastic. I remember one of the blue and white la liga teams going with out a sponsor a few years back which i really liked, either Espanyol or Deportivo.

Well, thats a little unusual as years ago the strip you purchased in the fans shop was different to the shirts which the players wore. The team strip was all wicking and made of a different material. Things must have changed?
