I do wonder what Paddypower will be doing to promote themselves now they are not on the shirt. Major promotion via the electric scoreboards is almost a given. Advertising on Clappers? Golden Gamble Tickets? Programs? Food and Beverages wrappers / containers bought in the ground? They might not do much? They have had more coverage in 2 days than other sponsors have in a season....

I suppose the best exposure is on billboards at televised games rather than on a shirt that only a few thousand see at the match if it's not televised. Probably trying their best to get a lot of Town home games televised.

So PP are also going to give out 500 new shirts in exchange for previous branded ones. It just gets better!

Put it this way. Without looking, what proportion of football fans who don't support each team can name the shirt sponsor of Watford, Sheffield United, or Wolves? Or know which team's shirt is sponsored by W88, LoveBet or ManBetX? A handful? By comparison (and I'm not sure this is an exaggeration), pretty much every football fan knows that Paddy Power sponsor Town, or that Town are sponsored by Paddy Power.
Within 5 working days, Paddy Power have obtained more exposure than pretty much any other shirt sponsor in the country. That also means that Town have obtained more exposure as a result of their shirt sponsorship than any other team in the country.
Paddy Power may be the primary, immediate beneficiaries of this. However, the more exposure Town get, the more likely it is that other businesses see us as a good investment/advert. Let Paddy Power take the credit for this sort of thing - in the background, we can quietly reap the benefits of the increased exposure they give us.

So basically they couldn’t get a sponsorship deal/sort one in time and so have treat us all like mugs and turned their poor planning and usual lateness in sorting the shirts round on us the fans, with a last minute deal with PaddyPower for this stunt! Shirts without sponsors look shit, look like the club couldn’t find a sponsor and let’s not lose sight of that’s exactly what has happened here - they have just created a smokescreen and noble cause to cloud it! Shut the fuck up I'm intentionally repeating the request; Do shut the fuck up. For everyones sake, including your own.

So for the cynics who think this was a last minute rush job to cover up for no shirt sponsor, according to Marketing Week(the bible for marketeers in this country)
5-0 Town I would say:
Having decided on how it wanted to break into the football sponsorship market, Paddy Power had conversations with several clubs that weren’t willing to embrace the campaign. Price says that when the team met with Huddersfield Town, if there had been any initial resistance – as they experienced with other clubs – they would have walked away because the launch strategy is not for the faint-hearted. Luckily, the club embraced the idea straight away and were ready for the backlash, which included a complaint from the Football Association (FA) about a potential breach of sponsorship rules. Price says that while the club could have gone elsewhere and signed a more lucrative deal, it was thinking fans first, which made the partnership such a great fit.

We Never had sponsors on shirts in the old days 60s & 70s i think personally they spoil the shirt ! in fact fans never wore replica Shirts . Anybody remember the First Replica Shirt worn by the Fans ? Sponsorship through football wasn't really understood, certainly not by the 'football men'. Only in the late 1980s did English clubs discover that people were willing to buy replica shirts. The clubs had stopped paying sportswear companies for the team kits, then they progressed to charging the companies for the team to wear them. Weather its branded clothing, gambling or TV, it's usually people in other industries (non footballing) that identify how profits might be made.
