I think Town have a well balanced centre midfield mix of players so personally I'm not to concerned about an extra centre-mid coming in, although Trevoh Chalobah has been mentioned.
Phil Hodgkinson did say at the Q&A that Huddersfield would now be operating a 1 out 1 in policy after Grabara signed. So there is a good chance we might yet see 1 more through the door before August the 8th.
Personally I feel we are well balanced and ready to go. So I wonder what position we might move on? LB is stronger than people give it credit for. Kongolo and Jaden Brown seem capable enough Bockhorn able to also play there.
I like that in the official site, the player profile updates all now have the new kit with the exceptions of Zanka, Billing, Hamer and Sabiri. A very visual reminder that they have no future at HTAFC. Also I like that 5 of last seasons EDT group are now in the first team. For me it shows the change to the academy structure was a good one.
I stayed away from the board for a few days (apart from confirming where Pritchard played for Brentford - leftwing/wingforward) a useful exercise.

I think we’re short of a true Defensive Midfielder that can screen than back 4 and step in for Hogg. We’ve clearly been interested in this position as we’ve been looking at Makasi. Unless Stank is going to be that cover moving forwards.

Could it be 1 in 1 out after Billing, Zanka and Sabiri.
Still have 26 in that 'virtual' squad, not counting Rowe or Duhaney who have lost their squad numbers.

Anyone know if Makasi has been released from his trial . According to the Examiner, we’ve not kept him. How accurate that is I don’t know these days.

Chalobah is still a possibility. I would be delighted with that.

would be ideal and be the ideal move for him in some ways. Coach known for working well with younger players, no immediate pressure of being first eleven but with strong chance of making regular appearances.

Anyone know if Makasi has been released from his trial . Definitely not here anymore. Think he was at Wimbledon on trial last week.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't sign anyone tbh. With Mooy, Bacuna, Hogg, O'Brien, Brown and potentially Pritchard who can play there as well I think there are other priorities. Remember Billing hasn't played for 6 months so hardly like we will miss him.
That being said I'd be surprised if we sign anyone else this window which I think we might regret.

Midfield lacks an experienced 'squad player', Daly, O'Brien & Brown have very limited Championship experience, if one of Hogg or Mooy gets a long term injury we are very light and asking a a lot of 3 players who have not played or have very limited Champ experience. Would also like a player in the middle who can break from the midfield, hoping Pritchard could provide that but Siewert sees him more as a winger which is fair enough he watches him train every day.
We have not replaced Lowe at LB yes Kongolo can do a job but he is a CB and when he plays at LB he looks like a CB playing at LB which over 46 games will show. Good full backs are so important especially if we are looking to play a more attacking style with them over or underlapping the attacking 3. I am a little concerned we have not got the quality needed, we sold Smith and brought in a German 4th tier player who has not played much above that (he may be great but we don't know that yet) and not replaced Lowe at all. Shoehorning a RB into LB seldom works and is not a long term solution.
Not sure what has happened to Duhaney is he injured, out of form but he did ok in his 45 minutes of Prem Football and appears to have gone back to the U19 and not mentioned in any plans.
We are still very winger heavy and the squad still seems a bit imbalanced, while we have done some good work in trying to remould it and that process will take time.

Kongolo and Schindler would be amongst the best defensive pairings in championship recent memory. I'd absolutely be getting a left back in to free up Kongolo to play CB.

Think Brown is a CM who likes to break from midfield. The main issue for me is the LB situation. Kongolo is great defensively but is a better CB. As you say we haven't replaced Lowe which is odd because as we have shown this window you can pick up players for pennies still.

Duhaney clearly doesn’t have it from what I have seen. Physically good but doesn’t seem to have a grip on the fundamentals of movement, tracking, and recognising what is happening and where he should be moving and why.

Play your best players in there best position. Elphick will give you good cover and and options to go to a 3 in different matches if need be, it is a long old season squad depth and rotation is crucial. Don't just move one of your better players to a position because 'they can do a job'.

Left back and centre mid still needed imo
Defence is very thin
We can’t expect to play 3 in centre mid with 6 players

I hope we have a cut off for players leaving. Don't want to lose schindler & kongolo on last day then not be able to replace them. We would definitely be light in defence then.

Duhaneys 45 minutes was massively overated purely because he wasn't Smith or Flo. He looked reasonable driving forward but he was rinsed going the other way. He needs a loan.

It all sounds like everything will be completed today judging by news from the south coast. We have 10 days, I'd imagining we are already putting things in motion for a new #terrierinbound over the next week.
I suspect Zanka will be gone too, but only at the end of the window. All the stories point to being the Turkish clubs, Fenerbache or Istanbul BB. That leaves just leaves Sabiri.
