I reckon upper mid table if we keep this current squad and (obviously) worse than that should we sell Mooy/Schindler/Kongolo without replacing before deadline day.
Would be happy enough with that - getting back to winning games and scoring a few goals again.👌
Tough start though which will be crucial to set the tone for the season.

Win first 2 home games and Top 2 here we come. I’m not scared of anyone in this division.

If we retain our key players ( so far so good ) I think having the best midfield and central defence in the league plus a rejuvenated Mounie supported by Grant , we will be automatically promoted back to the Premier League. Aaron Mooy, Championship Player of the Season.

I think we can get in the top 2 this time
Worse case scenario the playoffs
The squad as a whole is far stronger than last time with plenty of the terrier DNA still present and the points tally needed for a top 6 spot the last 2 season's has been very low! 73 and 74 needed when we needed 80 to get a spot

Had we got the new full backs and another striker I'd have been confident of automatics.
therefore top 6 but we need to have a good start.

1. Fulham 2. Cardiff 3. Leeds 4. Stoke 5. Town 6. Middlesbrough
22. Luton 23. Millwall 24. Charlton
Think we’ll start the season off fairly averagely (7 points from the first 5 games) and gradually get better as the season progresses culminating in a play off spot.
A few years ago I used to look at the sides in this league with dread wondering where we might get points from, now I honestly believe we’re one of the best teams in the league. The key to a successful season for me is if Grant is as good as I believe he is.

Flirting with top 6 most of the season but falling away to finish 9th. And I would be content with that.

Who can possibly say. Derby, Fulham and Cardiff are three of the first four games. It won't take long to see how we are going to fare in this league when we assess how many points we have after 4. UTT

Too many question marks to make any confident prediction. The final composition of the squad for one. However, the main one for me is over Jan Siewert, is he any good? How will he deal with the pressures of the championship? If Town have got the appointment right, we will be top 6. If as i fear, he isn't, we might be looking for a new manager by November.

I genuinelly can't call it at the minute. The first five games will tell us what this teams all about.
Individually I think we have one of the best teams in the league behind Fulham. As we all saw last season there was absolutely no chemistry with them and what does worry me slightly is there hasn't been a bit more movement.
I am quite optimistic we will do well but it also wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we flop and Siewart is out before Xmas.

Tricky start may put us near the bottom to begin with. Not convinced that important members of the squad are mentally ready for what is coming. Totally unvonvinced that the manager’s system will work - feel that 4-3-3 will leave us badly exposed and the coaching does not seem to stress the importance of positional discipline. 15th position is my prediction after a good finish to the season.

He might surprise a few of his critics on here. I'm not sure what gives you that idea. The physical presence of the centre backs in the championship certainly isn't weaker than the Prem. Can see him winning plenty of headers where the ball goes straight to the opposition though.

If I compare the squad to the promotion season, I think it is at least as good and improved in some areas. The players we had then will (hopefully) have all improved for their PL experience. The addition of Kongolo, Grant, Elphick, Pritchard, Mbenza, Bacuna, Mounie has definitely upped the quality over the promotion squad. Then we have the new lads from this window and the likes of O'Brien. I think we have a bit of concern over the LB position. Flo is an annoying player but I think will be adequate at RB. Herbert might end up being great so that may not matter. Sadly, I don't think Diakhaby will pull any trees up. I hope I'm wrong. We have 3 strikers and that should be enough to get us to January.
I reckon we'll be on the pace in the top 6 in Jan and we will reinforce then.
Town to finish 2nd behind Fulham is my prediction.

Optimistic for the season ahead after keeping key players (touch wood) and a very good pre-season. Tricky start but I don’t fear anyone.
Top 6 finish for me.

Everybody raving about Brentford this year. Cant see it personally. Have they signed anyone else apart from that spiky haired tit who we all know is a show pony?
Cant remember the main strikers name now but hasn't he been left out the squad pre season because he's off? Might be value in them with the bookies but don't think they'll hit top 6.

I would say somewhere between 4th and 18th. Too many unknowns the primary one being the manager and his tactics. Also not sure we have strengthened everywhere we should and could be relying too heavily on Grant for goals. Hopefully Mounie can be more effective in that area to give Grant a rest and cover any injuries.
Optimistic but not excited, honestly not too bothered about promotion this year but would like us to have a solid year and finish top 10 without ever looking like relegation could be a possibility.
Worst thing about relegation from the Premier League, I will be back to trying to watch on dodgy streams and probably won't see many games as a result. Best thing, we should be able to compete a lot better than the last 2 seasons.

Was talking about this to a Town fan at work. Basically i have no idea and neither did he.. We could really struggle and be faffing about near the bottom group or we could be in the top 3 all season. Think with the squad as it currently stands, we need to keep Grant fit to have any chance of success. We need goals.

As always we need another striker. It is always about the goals. Like the way they are going about things. Rivals not impressing. Recruitment looks solid....a couple of Prem loans and we could challenge! Read today 8 of the last 30 teams relegated went back up the next season. I originally said !3th (got a bet with the Mayor)....i now say 6th ...and i will take that all day long.

1. Cardiff 2. Fulham — 3. Preston 4. Leeds 5. West Brom 6. Brentford
I think Town may start slowly and end up sacking Siewert by October time. Then push on after that and finish around 10th.
