My lad lives over in Marple, Cheshire, and he’ll be without his car all next week. He can get to the match tomorrow after work ok on the train but he won’t be able to get home. Is there anyone from over that way who is going to the match tomorrow who could give him a lift home?

He could get back to Marple by train after the game too. 22.01 from Huddersfield gets to Marple 23.48.

Oh right, although I don't see why that's anyone elses problem but his own? I get up at 6am for work and I'm sure most people do on here. If he chooses to come to the match that's something he has to deal with, in all honesty I wouldn't have the audacity to ask for a lift based on that. If he wants to come he deals with his 30 minute walk home (no taxis in Marple?) and the 6am start.

I’m asking on his behalf because he told me he will probably be giving the game a miss. I’m just trying to help him out. I don’t need a pontificating lecture from someone who is being less than helpful.

I'm responsible for my own life so in this instance I have two choices, train both way, which is doable and get a taxi at Marple station and take the 6am start on the chin or not bother going and watch it on TV. That's how I see it. It's always best to do it yourself, pay your own way in life.

You do realise there are people that don't think like you.. for example happy to help others, don't whine every time town don't score 5 etc etc ? If this country were made up of 65 million Ar's I'm not sure it would be a better place mate

If you want to live by that principle, which in truth I doubt you really do, then that’s one miserable existence. Meanwhile the rest of us just think we’ll do a favour from time to time & then maybe get one back when we need it.

As I said the train is more than doable and you take the 6am start. Can you lend me 200 quid Ted, I'm a bit short this month. Help me out.

Deary me there are some real miserable fannies on here.....FFS he is a Town fan - get a grip !
AR - are you such a miserable so and so all the time - or do you take tablets for it ? with that attitude I am glad I don;t know you ! (Sc) OTIUM - Milk Train - are you sure it wasnt the "Bull sh!"t Train" - with the amount you come out with you could get to the far side of the universe and back at warp factor 10 !
Good to see someone is helping out - hope your lad has a great time and sees us win !
ps no man is an island everyone must rely on the company and comfort of others in order to thrive.
(except Otium who needs nothing except his own ego and large pile of BullSH!t)

That's how I see it. It's always best to do it yourself, pay your own way in life. And you can also see if there any other Town fans going in the same direction that are willing and generous of spirit and may be able to assist and make your life a little easier. In turn, you may also strike a deal to return the favour. Maybe even set-up a car pool to reduce costs for all and help the environment. You may even strike a lasting friendship. And if that option is not available, then the lad will take responsibility and make a decision for himself. But I assure of one thing, the bloke that drops the lad off will go to bed a happier man for having done a good deed, whereas..... A lot of people on here need reminding that this forum is meant to be a community for fellow Town fans to chew the fat together. We're all here for the same reason.

AR I wouldn't lend you 200 but I could easily divert through almondbury tonight if you wanted a lift home. I know that you could walk, or get a cab, or walk to the bus station and get a bus, or hire a camel , but honestly I'm driving that way anyway, I have two spare seats in the back, and that's how I roll. I wpuldnt question your personal characteristics if you ask. I know it might be a little bit Jimmy savile but I like helping others it makes me feel better as a person . But I'm not lending you money

I’d happily give someone a lift if it were on my way.

My biggest issue of this thread was someone asking for a favour and not saying please.
