Why did the south stand sing Super Col's song for the 5-10 mins he was on the pitch as if he was going to score? Er, perhaps to try and gee up one of our players. Strange concept I know.

Leeds United are an embarrassment to Yorkshire. Our largest city but have won diddly squat. The only creditable trophy was under Howard Wilkinson. Don Revie was a crook and his notorious brown envelopes for opposing teams is common knowledge. 😂 don’t worry we’re in a position to have mega rich owners soon. The guy latest unscrupulous person that owns us has connections with the richest people in football. Leeds is growing fast as a city and soon so will Leeds United Said Leeco - in 2004... Said Leeco - in 2005... Said Leeco - in 2006... Said Leeco - in 2007... Said Leeco - in 2008... Said Leeco - in 2009... Said Leeco - in 2010... etc. etc.

Money talks, but I have the feeling that even if Leeds United had £10 zillion behind them they'd still cock it up based on their lamentable track record.

at least Town fans sing their anthem without having it played through the PA system. The South stand can. Fucking bully for them, if only the rest of us could be so fucking wonderful

How's life in your 15th year out of the top flight. Pretty poor for the third largest city in England with only one club as well. Tee hee. It’s shit but at least we’re above you again and will probably smash you if you don’t sort your shit out. While you have been the premierships little bitch we have been building a team that will smash most teams this season. Til it matters and your bottle goes 🤣

I agree on the clappers. Whether people like them or not they contribute hugely to producing a loud atmosphere. Simply put they get people involved when don't get involved when they are not there. It makes it very easy to bang along to a rythmn. Yes they get people who are normally silent to add to the noise and atmosphere- which is great for them, for other fans and for the players.

anyone who is 5 or an adult who feels the need could still have one. A background sound of cardboard clacking isn't atmosphere. It was shit because the game was It was enjoyable for the older and younger fans or those who are more reserved but equally avid followers. It added to their fun and sense of being part of something and it didn’t hinder anyone else’s fun did it? South Stand were outstanding last season in awful matches and before and tonight. They’re a credit to the club. But I don’t see the harm of the clappers.

To be fair the whole Agree. Still milking the Paddy Power stunt too which has come and gone. Best bit is that the paddy power logo isn't displayed anywhere, but the stadium is plastered with sky bet signs and a bet 365 board ad!

Shite... Congratulations to the w@nker who thought it was a good idea to do away with the clippers. Couldn't hear the south stand from start to finish. Absolutely dreadful. Hopefully a lesson learnt. They help create an atmosphere and help the songs spread around the ground as at least the beat travels to those that know the songs. Going to be the biggest signing of the season if we can manage to get the happy clappers back

Load of bollocks. Only positive of the night, was absolutely delighted when I saw no clappers around me. If you need those to create an atmosphere don't bother coming.

The tone was set by both the fans and the players and the result followed. If bits of cardboard give the players 1% extra it's worth it. At the moment it seems alot of decisions the club is making is half arsed almost non league stuff.

Asking for a friend Come on, its bloody hard watching the same football we have seen for the last 2 years. I could put up with it in the Premier League as we were playing superior teams but i am going to struggle to joyfully sing until i am hoarse if i have to sit through playing the ball around the back and then either hit a hopeful 40 yard pass that is miles off anyone or is aimed at the smallest Town player on the pitch, followed by our wingers actually getting the ball to see not one person in the box so they have to go back and start again, to pass it around the back, hit a hopeful 40 yard pass, or find a winger who looks up and sees no one in the box.....see the problem? And by the continent do you mean the games where you can sing, drink, lob flares about, ultras orchestrating the crowd? I have been there and done it. Its great. You cant do this in the UK.

Annnnnnnnd new owners confirmed. Take over next week.
Initial £10m investment to get out of L1, then on from there.
Keep talking little pups, keep talking.
We've been through some reete sheete since relegation from the Prem in 2001, but nobody can deny that we're on our way back.
I suggest you beg for more pocket money To ensure Champ status, because it's becoming very likely we could be leap-frogging you next campaign.

Leeds fans have apparently picked up on this thread and are having a laugh about the fact that we use clappers. I hate the phrase 'tin pot' but it really is very apt. Put your hands in front of you then rhythmically bring them together a number of times. Also while you're at it start using your voice to project support rather than sitting on your arse and moaning about the South Stand ffs.

They’re only on here cos they won, we lost and cos it’s the school holidays their mums have let them stay up a bit later than normal. I agree, people should clap and people should sing but they often don’t, especially when it’s dire in the pitch, and that’s the same at every club. If people want to use em and it adds to the noise and atmosphere, who cares?

I'm sorry I don't see why there needs to be correlation between on field performance and people singing. If you like tipping up with your mates and singing why not just do it ? I love singing win lose or draw. When I go down the karaoke I don't need to barmaid to do some tricks before I get up on stage

I sing as much as anyone else but I become emotionally involved in the game, which affects my mood throughout the game, along with 20000 others. If you want to keep singing crack on. Sometimes I don’t want to if I am pissed off with what I am watching. It isn’t a karaoke watching Barry doing his ABBA tribute, it’s a football match where the mood of the crowd is dictated by the performance on the pitch. For most people.
