Shite...
Congratulations to the w@nker who thought it was a good idea to do away with the clippers. Couldn't hear the south stand from start to finish. Absolutely dreadful. Hopefully a lesson learnt. They help create an atmosphere and help the songs spread around the ground as at least the beat travels to those that know the songs.

If that is shit from the South Stand I wonder what your expectations are? Questioning the one stand that actually produced atmosphere is a little odd.

You can take my clacker but you can never take my freedom. Even Terry the terrier looked lethargic. And as for Robert the DJ...the less said about his night the better.
Edit: Tina the terrier or whatever she's called can fuck off an'all.

I agree on the clappers. Whether people like them or not they contribute hugely to producing a loud atmosphere. Simply put they get people involved when don't get involved when they are not there.
It makes it very easy to bang along to a rythmn.

You might have been in there, but genuinely the first time I couldn't even hear them, to be fair I am at the other end of the ground, but not one song travelled. I hope the club return to putting them on most seats as they definately help with generic noise and also rhythm of songs.

I have it on good authority that the Billing transfer money has been earmarked for clackers.

His whole point is the lack of clappers meant fewer people were involved, so the songs didn't get from the South Stand round to the rest of the stadium.

To be fair the whole night was a disaster
First of all they try to lay the big shirts out and put one right on top of the sprinkler so there's a massive puddle building up underneath until someone had the bollocks to get wet and move it. Did not one person who was involved in that display remember that the sprinklers always come on before kick off?
Then there was the music that kept coming on during the first half
Then the electronic advertising on the fantastic media stand failed
It was like amateur hour

I think the lack of atmosphere was more to do with the south stand being half full and town playing shit rather than some crappy children's toys that make an annoying sound. It's not like people using them sing anyway they just sit on their seat clapping them.

What a load of tosh. The SS tried hard most of the game
It’s up to the other stands to join in

Surely there must be a YouTube video which teaches people how to clap. I'm not sure if people need cardboard clappers. South stand did pretty well tbf considering the abortion of a first half.

Couldn't even make out what song you were singing it was just muffled low level noise. The atmosphere in the stadium before, and during the game was terrible. The songs and the clappers warm the rest of the stands up and get them ready to join in with the south stand or kilner bank. Wont be many coming to town and saying it's a fantastic atmosphere if the club goes down this road. Put them on the seats and let individual fans choose if they use them or not.

To me that's a fact. So why wouldn't anyone want that? I don't like using them, but other people do. And I'd rather hear them than silence.

The rest of the ground were like cardboard cutouts.

I think 16500 do need the clappers otherwise you may as well just not bother and we will quickly lose the atmosphere, a good number of fans and the place will return to being a morgue.
