That second goal. Six town players around him an he still gets a shot away. A lot of ball watching and no marking going on there.

Fucking hell, that shoulder for the first. He could probably have shepherded the ball out. He could certainly have put it into touch or cleared it with his foot. But no, wide of goal with nobody near him, he attempts, on the volley, to shoulder it back to the goalkeeper in the first competitive game they've ever played together, thus necessitating moving the ball towards the goal, even if he doesn't fuck it up. What a disgrace.

Things I notice on the 2nd goal: 1) Derby committing 6 players to the attack from the very start, ended up being 6 on 6 for the entire phase of play. Bogle (RB) is pushed right up and is unmarked. How often did we do that? 2) We only see Pritchard tracking back what is effectively 'his man' right at the end of the clip. 3) Mooy doesn't track back to mark Lawrence after seeing Bacuna pulled out of position on the right hand side to try block the cross. Ball eventually ends up with Lawrence who scores. 4) Both Mooy and Hogg go to close down Bogle (RB) who feigns a shot before passing to Lawrence. If Mooy stays with Lawrence that ball doesn't get played through. 5) Quick passing from Derby which pulls our defence from right to left and then back to the centre (how often did we do that?) 6) Defence actually in a reasonably good shape

True, but the fact that Elphick needed to come out of the defensive line to close Lawrence down means that the CM's not doing their jobs. Mooy either didn't spot the danger or couldn't be arsed tracking back

If these are the highlights I'd hate to see the lowlights.

What a disgrace. Bang on. There should be some form of club fine/penalty for fuckwittery on that scale. If any of them want to try bollocks like that wait till we are 3 nil up first.

Irrespective of the daft play by Elphick I bet if you tried to recreate it more often than not the ball would bounce into the area and the keeper would collect it rather than that odd looking bounce like it's got backspin and just sits up which meant he had to improvise a header which was never going to go very far. No excuse for the tomfoolery that caused it mind.

Absolute shambolic defending.
No organization, players left unmarked left right and centre, half arsed tackles. F**cking crap.

No excuse for the tomfoolery that caused it mind. I was in line with Elphick when he did it. Watch the video and compare Elphick's position when he plays the ball to where the ball bounces, it only went about two thirds of the distance towards goal it would need to to make it to the edge of the area, despite how long it was in the air. Even without any spin at all, it wouldn't have made it to the edge of the area on the first bounce, let alone near the top of the first bounce, which is where Grabara would have needed to catch it.

Watch Elphick’s reaction after he makes his attempted pass for the first goal. Essentially stands still and watches Grabara run off his line, if he had sensed the danger straight away and sprinted back to the line it’s an easy clearance given he almost made it back anyway. Just gotta hope it was nerves/shock of making such a drastic error.

For an experienced defender seemed pretty slack and that’s not taking into account the disaster of using his shoulder to make a pass
