The fact that we were on TV , it was a midweek game and Town have put in another dismal performance may have had something to do with the low crowd and lack of atmosphere. The team need to give the fans something to fire them up as it looked like we were still playing pre season friendlies with the likes of Bacuna and Elphick leading the way with poor contributions.

I quite like Leeco - he's borderline WUM, but posts some measured stuff... This one, on the other hand... We can welcome them all back over the course of the next few weeks. Edit to say, that Leeco was about in our flirtation with the greedy league, so he/she doesn't count in that last sentence.

Where have you been for the past 27 months? You suddenly went quiet after we won the playoffs and got promoted. I'm sure you ridiculed your Wednesday supporting mates eh? I don't have any Wednesday fans as mates (not that I'd want any. Bunch of wankers) but I do have some Blades fans as friends. They've done really well haven't they? Nice to see the biggest club in Sheffield back where they should be.
Interesting skimming through your posts of the past 7 years. It must be nice to have been completely wrong when you mentioned Town bottling it and how great Wednesday are. I'm sure you were happy to have been proved completely wrong.

At Hillsborough in the playoffs I'm not sure if the Wednesday fans thought they were at a football match or an Elton John concert?

Thought it was digshit tonight no real backing and lots of empty seats around where has all of last seasons fans gone. As for the game ...long season ahead. Think you answered your own question, empty seats will stay empty not because of relegation but because of losing nearly ever game. The future of football is dire, boring premiership teams and overpaid third rate players.

Still 22500 there. A lot less empty seats than Hillsborough.

The future of football is dire, boring premiership teams and overpaid third rate players. Last nights crowd was on tickets sold and i know of 8 fans who are still on holiday like a lot more. That was a good crowd and it was also the least number of Derby fans i have seen at a Town game, they did not even sell 2,000 tickets.

22500 plus for a game on tv on a Monday night bloody brilliant. Atmosphere was fine then 2 quick goals after the season we’ve just had yes things went less noises than usual but no where near as quiet as a game at the owls stadium on every Saturday afternoon. End of you sad owl scum.

There’s always loads of empty seats first few games due to holidays. Granted there will be more empty seats this season overall, we are in a lower division, it’s not rocket science, but there’s always loads off. Out of our 12 last night 3 went, the rest are on their jollies.

If there were 1900 from Derby that leaves 20600 Town fans (I know- tickets sold). So if we sold 18000 season cards then where were the other 2600 Town fans - certainly not in the FM lower where there looked to be less than 500.

Stage was set monday night for the players to come straight out the blocks and get the crowd going, did in the first 5 mins really with a couple of attacks then it just turned into last seasons performance, 18 months of shite football is hard to get excited about.

You can moan about gate figures but everyone is doing the same. Never mind the championship, you only had to look at Cardiff and Brighton claiming over 30k every week in the premier league. Absolute nonsense, loads have a far bigger differential in attendees v gate than we do.
