The clock is ticking, the fans are getting grumpy cos the Sky reporter has gone home for his Ovaltine.The gaffer needs ONE MORE for the promotion push or to stave off relegation. Arterrier is promising to drive the player down personally. It's all getting a bit tense. So in desperation we reach for a DEADLINE DAY DUD . Surely one of the worst was Kallum Higgingbotham. It's 2012 and Lee Clark is getting twitchy cos he hasn't signed anyone for a week . The unbeaten run is a faded memory and the fans are singing "league one forever " . What's needed ? Probably not a double swoop from the hotbed that is Scottish football. But we sign Murray Wallace (then instantly loan him back to Scotland ?  ) and Kallum. Kallum... he talked a good game, but his attitude and endeavour appeared a bit lax . Altogether played four games for us. Although remarkably one was the play off final against sheff Utd. Id totally forgot that. Shipped off on loan to Barnsley within three weeks of arrival. Recalled for the play offs. Then shipped off to Carlisle (who sent him back ) before completing the cycle with a loan back to the Scottish wilderness. The final piece of the jigsaw hardly ever out of the box. Now plying his trade , age 30ish, at "Real Kashmir" , living the dream. A complete deadline day dud. Any more? |

Aren't all our signings duds these days?
Trying to think of the last good one we made. Terence I guess, not a great hit rate in recent times.
