We have a championship club with a decent stadium and decent crowds. We get season tickets for peanuts and are trying to do what so many people on here complained about us failing at for many years, having a successful academy. We have a strategic plan to build young players into good footballers and the club, as far as I know, is not in a shed load of debt as many clubs are. We are still frugal and very active commercially trying to get as much revenue in as possible. DH put a lot of money into this club and his vision got us 2 seasons in the Premier League on a very small budget. Last year he very nearly died and if he now wants to sit back a bit and recoup his investment, while still leaving the club in a strong financial position, then bloody good luck to him.
We are in transition. Relatively new, inexperienced, manager, new owner and new Director of Football. It may well be bumpy for a bit.
You don't have to look far in football to see clubs that have been ruined by bad management and there are plenty not far away from it due to over spending trying to reach the promised land. Can we all please realise just what a good thing we have and just enjoy it. All of us who have been supporting Town a while have seen really difficult times and these are not. Leave the guys running the club to do just that and get on with the job of being a supporter. The clue is in the word.

For those asking "why is this important"? I'll state why it is important;
Firstly the actual cash amounts involved are not my business, I accept that it is a financial agreement that is commercial and in confidence. However the structure of the deal is important. It is important because it informs us what to expect in terms of the available budget to spend on the team and what to expect.
If the deal is structured to release finance to pay the loans DH has made to the club over the years then I don't see why that shouldn't be said. DH only said "I didn't expect to get my investment back" he has never said, to my knowledge, "I won't recover my investment". I won't think any less of him for wanting his money back, I will be less impressed if he has felt he can't tell us.
As far as PH is concerned he needs to be straight about what parameters he has to work within rather than this rhetoric which leaves questions unanswered and raises more.
The problem we all have, whether we admit it or not, is that we expected that reaching the Premier League would put the club on a better footing. Even if we were relegated we hoped we would be able to sustain a challenge to return to the Premier League. Although we have still maintained some significantly remunerated players but we have been set this, unclear, 3 transfer window transition and been told that we have no Premier League money left. These statements raise questions rather than make things clear.
It is natural as fans that we will judge and comment on the decisions taken. If we understand our boundaries we can apply that knowledge when making comment about the decisions. Fans will be more sympathetic to the challenges if they understand, if they don't understand they will be concerned and questioning. At the moment there are plenty of questions and precious few logical answers.
At a purely football level we have also been left with a novice coach, and staff, who many are becoming increasingly concerned is not yet ready for the challenge. Moreover there a few who are pretty sure he may never be up to the challenge. In the event that he does leave at some point, understanding what our position is then informs us about who we might employ or why we have made that choice.
At the end of the day we had 10 years of complete understanding, we may not have always agreed, of the club and what to expect. Now we are pretty clueless about what, why and who.
I don't see why we can't get back to being appropriately transparent.

Is this any of our business? As fans we have a very very tiny stake in the club and that stake lasts for one season then we have to sign up again. I totally disagree with that. We ARE the club. Administration happened because of financial mismanagement. We nearly did not have a club. And we saved the club, not Davy.

Now thats a big leap from wanting to know who paid what and who received what to administration happened because of financial mismanagement. Don't see what happened all those years ago has to do with the here and now. How about all those people who are unhappy with the so called secrecy putting a £5k - £10k into the club to help solve any financial problems which may come along? Then you can be genuine share holders.

If your daughter comes home at 3am don't you ask where she has been? I will explain tomorrow when i have more patience.
