The melodrama on DATM has made for entertaining reading in the last couple of days, with some getting as far as apoplexy. The disappointing result and performance against Derby not ameliorated by the (possibly) expected activity at the end of the transfer window has set a somewhat negative tone before today's game. It's not a must win but it would be good to see a more solid performance, and more folk in the box for when the odd decent cross arrives. As it has been over the last couple of years (and many many times in the last 60 years) it's probably hope over expectation, but its the hope that keeps you going!

UTT. you are right we do need a few games to go our way but I know what the site will be like if we lose. its a very unsettling time and a lot of that is down to the over rection to Mondays game. the attacks on siewart and Hodgkinson are not helping and whatever happens today will not define the season. |

UTT. you are right we do need a few games to go our way but I know what the site will be like if we lose. its a very unsettling time and a lot of that is down to the over rection to Mondays game. the attacks on siewart and Hodgkinson are not helping and whatever happens today will not define the season. not overly bothered about the 'reaction' from some of the support, been here before once or twice in the 'social media age' and loads of times before it when 'angry' letters to the Examiner and verbal altercations in public houses were the 'venting of the spleens'.. almost overnight success proved to be a problem and was blown up by last season being so bloody awful.. I am surprised with one or two posters admittedly.. The only things that rankle a bit with me is '7 months pre season'?? and the idea that Jan made it worse after X Mas in terms of the attitude of the squad as a whole given it was some more senior pro's that were not helping anyone much.. It won't be a quick fix, it wasn't last time and it could remain poor and go horribly wrong but some of the personal attacks on blokes who STILL work for the club and have never said anything negative or niggardly about it could do with ceasing from here on. I have to still be happy that Dean would always do what he thought best for the club rather than his personal interests and I find it quite annoying that some feel he might be taking back all his money and handing over to someone to 'take the shit' that may well follow? There may well be enough money to take a load of crap for but I think that Phil may simply be a transtional 'owner' to a deal already done and signed and in 'waiting'.. I want us to win every game no matter how good or indifferent the performances are, or how we do it, we will either improve footballing wise and everyone is happy or the style will win enough games and the results will make everyone 'happy' or as as happy as some ever get.. We were promoted with negative goals, a horrendous run in and no goals(by us) in 3 play off games and nobody cared, find a style, tactics and a mindset that works for the squad you have and a manager who knows it inside out and can make it easy to play for his team.? After 12 games here or so lets see where we are and how we have achieved or failed to improve the results.. Being 'competitive' can be a cover for not losing by many each week but never looking like winning, last season proved that. Possession is another 'fog' that was lauded for too long.. I can't be right or wrong on Jan as i have only ever said give him a reasonable chance without the doom of last year hanging over, players who don't want to be here and players who lost the winning feeling.. He may be a disaster but that applies to any manager, anywhere and the size of the disaster is the only difference in the end. we stay in this division and its not a disaster, thats it.. We should be aiming to win today, then look to the next game. Anyone in this division aiming for a points total in May usually ends up very disappointed.. |

My gut feeling is similar to teds- thats weve made a mistake with this manager and a change is probably just round the corner, if results are poor enough.
If they aren't then it could drag on a bit, but with the same end result.
Having said that, one of my best mates is a Norwich fan and this time last year he, along with just about every other Norwich fan, was slaughtering both the club's owners and their new german manager as being doomed to failure.
They pretty much all wanted Farke out and we';re utterly dismayed at the lack of investment in the team despite just seeing their better players sold for vast amounts of money, Maddison being the main one.
Opened the prem season last night having won the championship...
So disappointed, confused and a bit dejected as we are at how it looks right now, we can take something from Norwichs experience as its a very similar one to ours.
Its football- predicting how it will go is a thankless task, never more so than in this division.
