After a long rest all he had to do on MOTD was get the name of Sheffield's Premier League club correct in their opening game.
Got the Sheffield bit right, then added Wednesday. Fucking clown!

Btw, in case anybody is any doubt the EFL highlights are now on Quest (channel 12 on my telly, others may differ) at 9pm on Saturday. Town were on first but as usual in the post match summary we didn't get a mention.

Lineker is a prime example of the ignorance of the Premier League.
Great footballer, shite presenter/crisp salesman.

We started the second half well and got the penalty but it all fell apart after that. I'm not big on stats as a rule but if you go the BBC website, it pretty much sums it up.

The other way of looking at it is that we played a team away from home who last week beat Stoke away, and probably cost the same to assemble as our own side. And we got a draw with an academy player making his debut in place of Mooy in central defence.

The only conclusion from that is that Stoke must be worse than us because QPR weren't great but still looked a lot more threatening than us. The main bright spots for us today were that the Grabara looks good and Elphick had a much better game.

I don't think today was as bad as many are making out. QPR away is always a tough task and we got a useful point. It could have been better, but it's a start.

You're right it was nowhere near as bad as some are making out. From some posts you'd think it was the 5-0 at Stockport rather than an away point at QPR. However, what is alarming is how far we are behind the 2016/17 team, which given the money Sky have chucked at us in the interim is pretty disgraceful. I fear we may have blown our best (only?) chance of at least becoming an established top half championship sometimes bottom 6 Premier league club.

Spot on Andy and it beggars belief how we have got it so wrong when the message from within the club was that we were well run and doing things the right way.

I share your concerns, but let's not panic just yet. There are still 44 games to go and a lot can happen. The first milestone is 10 games, by then we'll have a fair idea of how we stand.

Only just caught up with the recording and I don't do Twitter but it looked deliberate to me. I tend to fast forward through the punditry these days especially Wright and Shearer but I couldn't help but notice the awful set the BBC have come up with. It's the vacuous CGI strewn rubbish I'd normally associate with the likes of Sky.

And hes allegedly getting 1.7 million a year for his efforts, how can the BBC pay this to a millionare many times over, and then stop free licences for pensioners.

I don’t generally watch match of the day but I’d say that the Beeb provides rather better value for money than Sky who pay their presenters far more. It’s a classic case of blaming the BBC for what us in reality a Government decision.

Why does he earn so much money? It's insane, for a part-time job! Has he got such a big fan club? Are his groupies all waiting outside his dressing room? Has he hypnotized the BBC bigwigs with his charm and charisma? So many questions, so little time.

I save the word 'odious' for a few chosen ones. Lineker is one those. The BBC should save money and give Mark Chapman the big job.
