Somebody made the comment in another thread that maybe PH should ask Dean Hoyle what to do
" One win in 28 for the club, 1 win in 17 for Siewert.
How bad does it have to get before PH does something decisive? I know the current situation is beyond his minimal football experience, perhaps he should swallow his pride and ask 'Dean, what do I do?'"
Does anybody think that Dean although a hero to us all should now be taking a lot of flack for the situation we are now in ,sure thing that he was extremely ill and was not at the helm to make decisions ,however the one decision he did make and time will tell if it was the correct one is in giving over the reins of our club to PH ,was this done at a time of desperation regarding his health ,was it done at a time when the medication may have had some bearing on his decision making ,we just dont know ,the other way of looking at it is that Dean has made a very shrewd move financially as it may be he gets most of his investment back via PH financing the deal out of his own pocket or by financing it out of the club ,Dean could be one of the few chairman/owners to come out of a club without any great losses over his 10 year period ,this would be either very lucky or very savvy .
PH could end up being a fall guy in all this ,the whole scenaio could have played out with Dean at the helm ,he could have seen it all coming and got out just in time ,person on twitter broke it down sensibly ref the finances ,this would not have come as a shock to people at the club ,must have been quite frightening to think that relegation would bring about the kind of upheaval it has in particular after the club had stated that a couple of years in the premier league would set the club up for life .
Seems that PH has bought a business that may not do him any favours financially ,must have looked good from the outside but not sure what it looks like now outside the premier league bubble ,my gut feeling is that Dean would only do what is in the best interest of the club at least in his mind at the time he made the decision ,now he is better it would be nice to know in hindsight should he have done what he has done .

I don't think you take over an operation and then ask the previous head, "What should I do?".
However, I do think that he will have approached DH and asked him for his opinions on the way things are at the moment.

Doesn’t come across as the type of person who would ask Dean Hoyle his opinion to me. That would give out the impression he ain’t got a Scooby which isn’t what he’d want to do.

I'd like to think that DH isn't going to just stand by and watch as everything he has built in the last 10 years crumble around him. I hope he will "offer" his advice to Phil, whether Phil takes his advice is another matter....

DH left the club not in the best of shape - lets be honest his illness majorly affected last season as Julian Winter couldn't run the club properly - leaving PH with a P.E. teacher in charge, no director of football, players who want to leave the club is hardly PH's fault! We'll have the best white seats, blue carpet and training ground in league 1 though!

Both DH and BP have already said they will liaise, DH is still on the board, DH still owns 25% of the club ..of course they;re going to talk...

To me Phil is only really guilty of one thing and that's speaking without thinking. Hoyle quite rightly has other things on his mind. It's not one individuals fault but you do have to question what Julian Winter has done for this club over the last 18 months as he has been the only constant and part of all decision making. We could afford to lose games at the end of last season as we were already doomed and didn't have the tools to change the course of that. However now it's serious. Can we really afford to give JS more time and be rooted to the bottom of the league before we make the change? We have all on the get anything from the next 2 league games and the players don't look like they are playing for the manager. It benefits no one for the board to be patient (stubborn) with Siewert.

It would have been best if Dean had kept at least 51% of the shares rather than just 25%. Surely if PH was paying little or nothing of his own money this would have been preferable because Dean, as a majority shareholder, would have been able to replace PH as a director and/or replace the Manager if he thought necessary. Also if Dean didn't want any stress he need not have remained as a director.

Phil H stated at the Q&A he’s not one for knee jerk reactions, and even if we’re bottom half (don’t know if a time scale was put on this...did he mean after 10 games, at Christmas or even end of season??) then the managers position would be considered wider than just the results.
I think he really wants to give him the full season and work those famed three windows to shuffle everyone out and in to build “the new normal” Championship squad.
On the other side of the coin...Dean exited at a very convenient time! 🤷♂️ It’s not as though anything different would have happened.

WIder than just the results probably means performances, fan opinion and other things. Poor results coupled with dreadful performances, lack of ideas, dress room disharmony and fan apathy all point to him being sacked sooner rather than later. Best to put him (and us) out his misery as soon as possible.

On the other side of the coin...Dean exited at a very convenient time! 🤷♂️ It’s not as though anything different would have happened. Hodgkinson needs his head testing if he thinks this clown of a coach can change anything. One thing for sure he will see plenty empty seats when we are stranded at the bottom of the table. Don’t think it’ll get to that tbh. The word “toxic” was used in another thread and that’s just the way things are (or are heading towards). We will either get a win from one of the next 2/3 (possibly 4 as it takes us to the international break) and it will release the pressure a little and least temporarily or there really will be no other option but to get rid. Said it elsewhere but it’s a question of when, not if. The tipping point could well be going out the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle. If the current manager is to survive more long-term, it’s going to require the mother of all turnarounds and a long, hard, look in the mirror at himself and the tactics deployed, playing lads out of position, alienating certain players, etc. Don’t think he’s capable of it, too naive and inexperienced.

It strikes me that we are a pretty ardent collection of soul on here with plenty of opinions .
But how many of the vast majority of fans think like this ? there must be thousands who have never heard of datm. Are their views as strident ?
I guess we'll never know.
