Apocryphal tale and the single most important reason why fans should never ever have player names put on shirts. You don’t believe the OP because it’s his first and only post and think he’s a Leeds fan on the wind up? Can believe this, as my son's mate, bought the blue away shirt, last Monday & had Mooy printed on the back! He contacted the shop Thursday, about them replacing the shirt, due to Mooy's transfer! They told him that if he bought a new shirt, they print a new name on the back FOC. What a joke, the lads 21 & just bought his first HTAFC season ticket, very disappointing!

Why on earth would you get a player printed on the back who we’ve expected to leave all Summer before the window closes

Doesn't matter how young or old you are, it's a lesson in life, deal with it & stop winging!

I’d be very surprised if the cost to the club of a shirt was more than 50p. Generic fabric knocked out in the Far East, stitched in a sweat shop with the branding put on by a machine. Replacing the shirt would cost a pittance. Pretty shabby in my eyes. I used to work at mitre sports and we supplied shirts to Norwich club shop (we sponsored them) for £7 each at a time when they were £30 in the shops, so it will be more than 50p but around a quarter of what they sell it for.

That's why it's sometimes worth having that Jack of all trades, Trialist, written on your shirt... 😉 In Rugby League it used to be A N OTHER. There used to be blokes on the bench and you didn't have a clue who they were

Make sure you have a photo crying with the shirt. Tag Paddy Power in it as well.

Players come and go . It was madness getting a Mooy shirt when it was always odds on he was offski. However the shirt did arrive Wednesday and he skidaddled Thursday . So it's a bit tight of town not to offer something as a goodwill gesture imo. Bearing in mind all the millions which have passed through the club in the last two years .

Seems a fair enough response to me. You asked for advice on removing the stickers, they explained there is no way to do this and probably don’t recommend you try as it will ruin the shirt. The offer of free printing on an alternative shirt is a good gesture that they don’t have to make...imagine if everyone started returning shirts for every player that left the club, price of shirts would have to go up to £100 to cover the cost! Not sure what the relevance of your season ticket and other shirt purchases are, the harsh truth for your lad is that footballers leave clubs and they don’t always do it to the convenience of the back of your shirt! Morale of the story...wait until after a transfer window shuts and then he’s got a few months at least next time. And in the meantime, there’s no shame for the lad t have Mooy on his back...people STILL have Booth printed on!!🤷♂️🤣 What next, free laser tattoo removal for everyone who had the old ? Dear HTAFC I had MOOY tattooed onto my knob but he's left the club so please can I have it lasered off? Actually the tattoo says MONOPOLY but it's been a bit chilly recently. Yours sincerely...

Partly why I never get a players name or number on the back. If need be, get your own name (or sons name) on the back.
Good luck in removing the letters though, I see what you're trying to achieve

Surely Mooy is the one who should replace/refund and not the club? I doubt he will respond but may be worth a try.

Was boarding a plane last week and the guy in front of me had a Liverpool shirt with 'BIG PHIL' printed on the back. Thing was, he wasn't that tall really. Luckily he had quite long shorts on..

Get a Brighton shirt with Mooy on the back; it will be current and still blue and white striped - no-one will notice the difference!

Overall, the shirts raised almost £30,000 on eBay, however, highest bidder for Aaron Mooy’s jersey (which went for £2,150) has reneged on his offer.
That means that there’s a rare opportunity to purchase Aaron Mooy’s signed, match-worn Paddy Power shirt!
Will the club refund the winning bidder and put a Campbell sticker on the back instead? 🤷♂️🤣
