Apologies if this has been shared on here before. It is Phils view on HTFC taken from facebook last December when speculation about Wagners future was rife Points 1, 4 and 5 show him to have the same feelings as most fans Point 6 shows he was a bit rose coloured However - points 2 and 3 show a huge financial naivety - hope he didn't think this was the case when he agreed to buy the club Point 7 - Hmmm.... View AttachmentHope its visible as not sure about this cut and pasting stuff I would say that this post shows up your financial naivety more than Phil s 🤔 Year we went up turnover 15.8m - but we lost 21m so PH was correct in saying we would achieve the equivalent of 15 years turnover (237m). The reality is that to remain sustainable our turnover would have needed to be nearer £30 to £35m assuming our costs had remained the same - which we know they haven't. My point is that is naïve to say that the premier league dosh is the equivalent to 15 years turnover.. its nearer to 5 or 6 years even assuming costs hadn't increased my biggest issue is with point 7. Phil had the expectation (like the majprity of us) that upon relegation the pot would be sufficient to sustain a credible challenge to get back into the PL. at least for a couple of years. Within weeks of him taking over we are being conditioned that this is a three transfer window plan ..Blah Blah blah

We still missed out on a great opportunity to establish ourselves in the PL with poor recruitment last summer and sticking with Wagner when he was looking to leave at the end of that season. I agree on lots of points on this thread Firstly what DW achieved is for a club of our stature a once in a generation thing but on that basis we appear to be missing our once in a generation opportunity to become one of the clubs that yo -yos between the leagues (west brom/burnley/Fulham) we seem to be too quick to rush back to being little old Huddersfield with a turnover of 15m and a target of mid table second division mediocrity
