Mbenza is abysmal. He didn’t want the ball at all tonight and when he did get it, laid it off. Never once ran at the full back.

Some put some quotes on here from his previous club fan site when he signed. Not one of the could believe the amount we paid for someone who’d only recently got into the first team. We all took it as an insult as if they were saying little Huddersfield chucking money about but i don’t think that was the point.

Let's not go overboard here.
This was a League cup tie against a team one division lower.
He's a talented player, but frustrating in how many times he thinks he needs to beat a player.
I still think his tweet at the w/e showed some professional disrespect. It wasn't as bad as that Chelsea keeper last season, but these things demonstrate how hard it can be for Mgrs these days. Particularly ones that aren't seen as being the authority figure by the supporters and player power can easily exploit those undercurrents.

Pity he did well - means he has zero chance of playing on Friday.

What's the betting JS will not start with VLP on Friday. Even with his shortcomings he still offers far more than either of the two expensive alternatives.

Id still be upset if we'd got him on a free. And you can add AD into that. Without doubt the worst professional footballers ive ever seen. How the hell did we think they could add anything at Prem level??? Don't look any good against a div 3 side. I said when i first saw them, they are both district league level, and as weeks go bye i think i'm proved correct. Just cannot see any improvement. What the hell do they try and teach them in training? ??

Van la Parra was the one highlight last night. Looked to have the beginnings of something with young Brown at left-back, put Lincoln on the back foot and got the fans off their seats.
I'm going to defend Mbenza a bit. We've yet to see much from him, but are we playing to his strengths? A couple of times last night early on he spun off his man and ran in behind, waiting for the ball. The ball never arrived. He then stopped doing it. He's quick, but doesn't look comfortable taking on his man in the same way as Van la Parra. Had that ball been played to him, would we have seen something different? The truth is we don't do two things that might help him: play the ball quickly and drive forward. The one time he has scored it was from a quick ball forward when he was on the move.

What ever hes done the club need to get make amends and get him back onside.
It's got to be frustrating for him knowing the absolute gash that's currently playing in front of him.
At the moment hes the only exciting player we have.

We need to cross earlier, behind the defence with forwards running on to it.
