I said at the time we appointed him that we should have waited until either the summer, or until we were definitely relegated. The club set him up to fail in my opinion.
I do feel for Jan a bit, he's clearly trying his best and nobody in his position is going to say no to managing in the PL. It was always going to go this way though.

The lack of HOF has been a big distraction to Siewert - he's been responsible for the day to day stuff Webb will be doing going forwards, which in this modern era is a big distraction from what his sole responsibility should be - preparing and putting the team out on the pitch to win games.
Those upstairs need to take a long hard look at themselves. F888ed up just about every single decision they've had to make over the last 15 months.

This one is a fair point and it's a genuine excuse for why things might have appeared so disjointed. I have sympathy with him on that one. Comparisons with Wagner are also unfair. Yes, we saw something within a few games under him but that doesn't necessarily mean that all successful managers will produce a big improvement quickly. Even if that was the case, just not being as good as the best manager we've had in my lifetime and one of the best in the club's history is no reason to sack somebody. The bar might have been set too high. I have some sympathy with him there as well. Actually, I have sympathy with him full stop. He looked close to tears in last night's interview shown on the Examiner page & it must be incredibly difficult to have thousands of people calling for you to lose your job when you're putting your heart & soul into it. I want this to work. I really do. I like the guy and his record of developing young players at BVB makes a part of me want to give him time with Koroma, the 2 Browns, Edmonds-Green, Bacuna, Stankovic... even Diakhaby & Mbenza. But I have to wonder how long it will be before we turn the corner. What is going to change that'll make the performances & results get better? How much damage to supporter confidence & momentum will be done whilst we wait to swing the axe? We're a club that is currently getting much bigger gates than we've had in decades on the back of the momentum created under the Wagner revolution. We're in danger of losing that. It's sad, but I don't think we can afford to give him many more chances to get this right.

Wagner inherited a broken team. Powell had sucked all the life out of it. Players refusing to travel to away games, Ishmael Miller up front, publicly stating that we could never compete with the mighty derby county. He transformed the club in a matter of weeks. This guy has had months and a transfer window to coach his methods and I see nothing. a restricted transfer window cuz where skint seemingley!!!.i know wagner did lots better be he didnt take over the club when it was in this bigger mess
