So PH isn't a Town fan because King of the North has never seen him at a game...
Fuck off.

Wagner was touting himself from half way through his first season here. Let's not get too sentimental about the staff at football clubs. Your alligeance and loyalty being mistaken for a bit of success? I understand all the opinions and reasoning, which I don't agree with a lot if, I don't understand or accept the vitriol and abuse purporting to be "passion". It won't help at all and if they really want to dig their heels in will only add to that desire?

If he was really a town fan he would [do X].
Problem is, "X" varies from one town fan to another. Each and every single one of us wants HTFC to do well, from those who still want Siewert to stay, through to those who had given up on him by February. From those who always stuck by Wagner to those who felt he'd lost his way during that sticky spell in our promotion season. Those who would rather see RVLP in the line up than Mbenza & vice versa - we all want success for HTFC.
How many times has each of us said "we ought to.....", but then the club didn't do it & we've got frustrated (forgetting that the 100 other things we "should have done" would have been disastrous). We ought to sign Nile Ranger. Kiegan Parker is a class act. People make errors of judgement regardless of their intentions.

Waste of a thread, pull yourself together. Hopefully admin will come along soon and this thread will be curtains. Whoever created it is a “beef curtain”

Once we got promoted his self promotion took up as much of his time as promoting us. Why I said about not looking with 'misty eyes' about previous Town employees. This bloke now needs wins more than any other manager here for a while and competent or otherwise the ambition is probably not to be dismissed. If he can get the team to be as desperate to play and win it might give him longer, unfortunately I don't see us in the top 6 and to many he will fail no matter wether he pulls the team up. The abuse is still childishly unnecessary from some. Wagner got stuck and definitely dug his heels in which killed us, let's repeat the exercise!

I've just been thinking about this as I'm still not over last night but has anyone actually ever seen Phil at a Town game before he became chairman? Is he actually a Town fan or did he just want people on his side from the start? If he is a Town fan he'd have done the right thing by now and got rid of this stubborn prick in charge and maybe invested some of that money from player outgoings but hey ho There are some pretty dumb opinions stated on DATM, does that mean they're not Town fans? Anyone who doesn't make perfect decisions all the time cannot be a Town fan?

No, spending relative peanuts compared to our peers on wages killed us. Playing with zero attacking intention and arseing about across the back and in our half was inconsequential then? Money was an excuse and then became the mantra for our 'little club'? We were only ever even competitive in games where the opposition just did 'enough' and we still lost. The money wasn't the 'bad' it was the attitude and then the work rate that truly finished us off.

We were talking to Siewert for three years.
The issue here is that Wagner walked and we appointed him 5 months sooner than we intended to.
You can write off the end of last season for me. No manager out there would have got us to within 10 points of safety.
Had he started when expected, we'd be 9 days into his tenure. Reasonable away point at QPR who have started well. Debutante dropped a clanger v Derby & last night was a reserve side.
For what it's worth, I am playing devils advocate here. I don't think he'll turn it around but he won't be going anywhere just yet.
I'm actually more annoyed by DH/PH atm. Dismantling a decent side & replacing with players from the National League & League 2. One can only assume we'd be close to admin without parachute payments
We don't even appear to have replaced them with players deemed good enough for the first team this season based on team selection.
It really is mind boggling.

Ok well in future we can just go get a load of local lads who’ll give 100%, pay em £100 a week, make sure they gerrit forrad quickly and commit a load of bodies forward too and we’ll be reet 👍🏻 Or alternatively you can stop pretending that league position doesn’t more often than not correlate with wage bills.
