I've just been thinking about this as I'm still not over last night but has anyone actually ever seen Phil at a Town game before he became chairman? Is he actually a Town fan or did he just want people on his side from the start?
If he is a Town fan he'd have done the right thing by now and got rid of this stubborn prick in charge and maybe invested some of that money from player outgoings but hey ho

I have to believe he is, but if he is then he will be aware of how the fans will react. The fact the people are as they are at the moment should be no surprise. I sadly think we are currently no too far away from people standing outside the front door singing "sack the board". That would be harsh overall but not surprising.

There was far too much parochialism about Phil and his Town allegiance. We just want the best person for the job. Who cares if he’s a town fan. Dean I suspect was a one off and irreplaceable.

Had a box for years, paid into the club partner scheme from the start, sponsored the shirts when someone dropped out, was in the young terriers. But not a fan... Poorest start to a witch hunt in history this thread . Grade: F. Must do better.

What a difference a whole NINE days makes, or 270 minutes of football. Things were pretty positive at 19.45pm on 5th August.....now it's mutiny !
Let's see what Friday brings.

PH has been sold this shitshow. He must be tearing his hair out. So now would be a good time for him to rip up the plans he was handed and bring in his own man.

The situation is quite similar to the one at Man Utd in 2013. Both Ferguson and David Gill left the club at the same time and Moyes/Ed Woodward presided over a summer where Fellaini was the only player brought in at the last minute. Both men finding their feet at the same time isn't good and Moyes didn't last the season, probably the worst season in United's recent history.
OK Siewert had a few months before Hoyle left, but the summer dealings does appear from the outside to suggest we don't really know what we are doing, and what plan to have. I'm hoping Dean is still having an input and advising PH to an extent. We needed a DOF but i think that will be too late for Jan, hopefully in a couple of years we can see the input PH brings and he will be a success, too early to judge him yet.
Hopefully he isn't an Ed Woodward though.

Yes....as someone who went to school with him and sat a row behind him in the kilner bank (I still sit there!) I can confirm he's an ardent town fan and will be hurting just as much as we all are right now. No need to pass further comment really.

I don’t doubt he’s a town fan
I also think he’s hurting and while being public on the phone pitchside was maybe naive it might be his way of showing he is passionate/ cares etc

There's no doubt he's a fan! There's also no doubt Jan is trying to win football matches, neither are necessarily relevant to whats going on at the moment.
Its said that Dean didn't entertain bids from hands off owners overseas, I don't necessarily see that as being a good thing.

I don’t think it would be surprising but I think it would be ridiculous at this stage I think you are right but we have been building to this over some time and with all the changes and uncertainty it is probably inevitable (if things don't improve). When you add all the hope and optimism (for a better future we had having made the Premier League) the patience won't last. You can sell season tickets at 2p and offer a free pie but people will also vote with their feet.
