No. That’s the point Jan is making....”we were 8 minutes away from winning”...ie if we hadn’t conceded in the last 8 minutes (like Derby), we’d have collected 3 points instead of the 1. We did concede, though. The game isn't played over 82 minutes. I don't get the rationale behind these pointless statements. The goal had been coming for about half an hour before they finally got it. And no-one could have complained if QPR had gone on to win. We were lucky to get a point. Scraping the bottom of the barrel for positives, if you ask me. And all I can see now is that if he says the words win/winning enough times it will miraculously happen. Anyone can do that. It's what the game is all about isn't it? It's fine to talk about desired outcomes to point. What about the way you achieve them? Fight? yeah....that's one he's mentioned. I'd expect a bit of that. Tactics? Approach? Hmmmmm..........not so much from Jan. He doesn't have a scooby IMO. Yeah, wouldn't be barmy to come out on air with his approach and tactics before a match would it? Not the one there that 'doesn't have a scooby', bit of a naïve expectation that.

Might just be a language issue and way it’s conveyed. Saying that, the point seems to be if we’d held on for 8 minutes we’d have won, which is essentially a fairly useless and obvious point to make....

Those of us who were at QPR could see the inevitable coming, because the players weren't pressing and allowed the opposition to attack at will. Crazy tactics. Also the bloke who scored wasn't being marked adequately - it was school boy defending.

not sure hes doing much wrong here. Had he come out and moaned and lambasted the players hed have been slaughtered for being too negative.
He has a squad on a terrible run, lacking confidence and morale must be desperately low.. so hes trying to eek out a positive from somewhere and focussing on that. Just about every manager would do the same. Doesn;t mean he isn;lt aware our 2nd half performance was dire. Just means hes, publicly at least, trying to stand by the players and big them up as best he can.

But why let putting words in my mouth get in the way of the point of your post, which was to fuel you're own sense of superiority. You've chosen one bit of what I've said and not looked at the entire point. This happens all the time on this board. Always the same culprits. Yawn. If you listen carefully, he talks about the square route of f**k all. We must win. They must fight. That's it. Nothing else. The reason that's all he talks about is because he doesn't have a clue. No-one would expect him to give away tactics before a game. Can I say you're naive for believing that's what someone would actually think?

Why do people tubing we should have Won at QPR? A Good side with a good manager. Major changes since last season. I think a point there will look better as the season goes on. Remember losing 4 nil to Bournemouth first game of the season a few years back? Turned out they were much better than we thought at the time. The result was ok but it was the performance that was atrocious!

The irony is the condescending twonks on here are usually the ones spouting crap. I'm sure some on here are actually bots engineered by Jarvis to counter act any datm negativity I agree he never says anything remotely convincing in his press conferences. We have been spoilt though to be fair. I remember Wagner making more sense in his first press conference in a foreign land in a foreign language than I'd heard in hundreds previously.
