Even more reason to pick a proper team and not dick about trying to make a name for yourself. So in your opinion he picked a 'wank team' to make a name for himself? How does that work exactly? He was trying to impress the board who all thought them 2 shitty wingers should have been playing all season. As you can tell i’m still angry we let Wagner go 😂

Yeah!!!! Would Billing have been dropped and lose millions on him? Would Hamer have made a fool of himself? Would Zanka be worthless? We’d have gone down but with a lot more credibility and players would have been in demand.
Let the leaving manager deal with all the problems, don’t dump em on a 36 year old nobody

The Chairman has to win the fans back we need a fresh approach, with a new man new ideas and in my opinion new coaching staff, it’s the only way to shake off the dreadful stench of defeatism that hangs over the club at the moment. There is one ex Brighton Manager looking for a job who will command instant respect from the players and we should do everything we can to bring him to Huddersfield Town. Brian Horton?

The strangest decision the club has made over the last year is deciding it would be a good idea to let Siewert take control while we were still in the PL and preside over a load of losses, it was very likely that this would result in extra stress for his position rather than some sort of bonding and so its proved. It should have been a caretaker till the end of the season and then Siewert given a whole pre-season and clear out/recruitment task. I think there’s a good chance this would have worked out much better. He jumped into the PL role and attempted to stamp his authority on a pretty much un-saveable situation which clearly alienated many of the players and has ultimately demoralised the entire club. Crazy decision. Only makes sense in hindsight I imagine the 6 months wagner got before the promotion season helped a lot Don’t agree, Wagner didn’t have to preside over an un-saveable position. What has happened was the likely outcome and the wisdom of the decision was discussed a lot at the time. I concede it was possibly Jans ego that was the deciding factor (ie he wanted to come in early) but the club should’ve resisted, we were never going to stay up. Edit: Just to add, I think the players were effectively handed an excuse for relegation by appointing Siewert, they could point at him and say it was his fault because he didn't improve things. They shouldve shouldered the blame themselves and Siewert would have come into pre-season with a different mandate, and his ideas and authority wouldve been acepted more readily. I take your point that its easy with the benefit of hindsight but It wouldn't have taken much thought to weigh up the pros of waiting till summer. I guess the very slim chance of survival was something the club had to gamble on but it was massively stacked against us and Siewert has essentially become a fall guy.

The problem I have with Hudson is that he was part of the coaching staff that so us relegated and then has seen us get 1 point from 9 in the Championship. Plus his comments about Siewert seem to imply that or ex manager was an excellent coach, and I don't know if he's being truthful or buttering up to Hodgkinson and Hoyle who appear to hold similar views. He also says that Siewart's strategy would take a long time to bear fruit! What the f...! - Bielsa came in and transformed Leeds almost immediately.

How can he say he's a great coach but at the same time say his strategy would take ages to sink in with the players Confusing the players is not the sign of a great coach

Hudson will be up for getting one over on Cardiff, did not end well for him there with certain people accusing him of letting a goal in on purpose.
Not sure I want a players mate in with no experience of management, be shocked if they go for him tbh

Hudson came across very well in his interview on the OS i thought. Intelligent, articulate and level headed. Wouldn;t surprise me at all if he ends up being a decent manager.
Think though that the situation we're in now needs experience and he has none whatsoever when it comes to management. Appointing any manager is a gamble, but Sievert was a huge gamble and Hudson would be too, if not even more so.
If we take another huge gamble and it doesn;t pay off, we could be in real trouble.

Given we’ve spent very little... Hodgkinson’s deep pockets should be able to get any manager who is interested in the job
Question is who on earth with a track record would be interested
If he wants to start to rebuild trust after the terrible summer (if I’m being polite) then he has to get this right
If he concludes Hudson is the person to take us forward then he needs to first of all make sure he has the right people in his back room staff - he’ll need an experienced head alongside him and presumably Whitehead. This cannot be Hudson just as he’s a cheap option and as with any manager the backroom has to be right.
He doesn’t need to decide where our players play - not the job of the chairman / owner.
He needs to back the manager in January
He needs to ensure the DOF is bought into any appointment - key

When it gets to January we'll get the usual "players prices are too inflated" and "clubs are to keen to keep hold of their better players" blah de blah de blah.

Should probably revisit this in three games time before we write Hudson off as not having enough experience, or not deserving of the job. Couldn't care who it is, how much it costs us or how much they are getting paid. So long as we are winning games they're the right man for the job.

Couldn;t agree more, but it would be a huge gamble to think he is the right man as he has no track record to go by. But he could be. There again you can appoint someone with a great track record and he could be a disaster. I think its largely pot luck, but some appointments need more luck than others.

I agree it all as an element of a gamble (most chance of success would be getting Pep or Jurgen, which is totally unrealistic. However I have followed Hudson's Career at Town closely. As a player he was brought in for leadership . Wagner had so much respect and high regard for his potential as a talented coach/manager Wagner created this whole 6 month internship to experience all facets of managering and coaching before then being given his own team. Watching the development groups I have seen Hudson develop from a leader of men on a pitch to a leader of an entire group. Just a side point but Hudson took part in Wagner's survival week. He experienced some clever stuff fro David Wagner. One year ago I don not think he was ready. In the last 12 months he has had many and varied experiences that can only do him well. Fundamentally I think he has what it takes to do it. To do a great job at Huddersfield. I would certainly give him the next few games to show what he has to give. Looking at our squad I actually think we could be well suited to play a 343 untilising Elhpick, Schindler and Kongolo in their best positions while also making the most of our wide attackers/strikers. I suspect we will play a high press 4231 which I would be equally happy with. Good luck to Mark Hudson. Fascinating game tonight.

If that was a new manager bounce tonight then we are in trouble, Hudson is not the man,and after that I don’t think we will have the choice of managers it’s who will want to come

Needed a more radical approach tonight. Shape and structure need to change. Would like to see Chalobah and O Brien playing together, 2 strikers, time to forget diakhaby and mbenza, plan life without them. Pack the centre, forget the wingers it ain't working.

I thought he picked a good team and formation apart from Mbenza. I was expecting better than that.

Diakhaby and mbenza aint doin it and will not do it in the championship, i think thats obvious. Need to boss and create in midfield.
